"Excellent base layer" 04/20/12
Very comfortable and lightweight, and the construction seems durable. Surprisingly warm for the weight. Wicks moisture away well (though I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of the "Gladiodor odor control"). Had my doubts about the elastic waistband, but it never even began to chafe. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and size S gives me the correct "slim fit". Good for skiing because the fit is just loose enough around the ankles and calves that these can be rolled up above the boot rather than being trapped down into it.
"As good as underwear get" 03/03/12
These are solid construction and gladly meet all the hype about Patagonia base layers. Amazing construction with over sewn seems and great soft fabrics. To test these I wore them under running shorts for a midwinter run. I went a couple of miles through the snow and blowing wind and I never felt a bit of wind come through. I also used them winter backpacking and with great success. No fancing sizing, just buy your normal size. I will never buy anything else.

I'm 5'8 and thin and it fit great! It never bunched up and I never got sweaty in 30F weather. Capilene 3 is waay more protection than Capilene 2! The wind will cut right through Capilene 2. Get this one and don't worry about the cold weather. My girlfriend says my butt looks "cute" in these.

These things are so comfortable! They keep me warm too! Wore'em to bed during a chilly night on Forester Pass, the highest pass on the Pacific Crest Trail! So much more comfortable than underarmour which tries to pull out my leg hair!

I have tried several different types of long underwear in the past, but this is my first pair of Capilene pants. I have to say that I am very impressed and pleased with this material. The Cap-3 is lightweight, highly compressible, breathable, flexible, warm, and comfortable. They fit close to the skin, but do not constrict like tights or bunch up behind the knees or under the crotch. These pants deliver all the things, and more, that I want from my base layer.

"Most comfortable bottom I own" 11/08/11
This patagonia men's capilene is really breathable. The sweat can come out quickly and you don't feel wet after you did some exercise. I feels very smooth, soft, which makes you feel very comfortable and natural when you wear it. And, it really keeps you warm in the late autumn and winter. Love it!
"Warm and comfortable" 05/07/11
Great baselayer for skiing! Wicks sweat well and keeps me dry. But it's so comfortable and versatile that I wear these as PJ's to bed both when backpacking and at home. Great for lounging around the house too. They are form fitting but not too tight. I also wear these under slacks and dress pants for more formal days- keeps me warm! These are my go-to long undies for colder days. I go to these so often that I bought another pair!
"Like making summer into a pair of pants" 01/04/11
The bitter December winds prompted me to break down and buy these. I have loved my Capilene shirt and have been anxious to try these out and I was not disappointed. Since I have purchased them I have hiked with them, worn them as pajamas, worn them with running shorts, and loved every second. I even wore them under my dress clothes while photographing a wedding. They are lightweight, breathable, odor resistant, and warm. They blow my old-school waffle thermals out of the water.
