I've worn this alone at Joshua Tree on 90deg days and been fine, under an R1 in fall and been fine. Wear it to bed and forget you have it on which is great. Super versatile, and extremely comfortable. I'm 6'2" and the medium fits perfect, kind of snug like a base layer should be.
"Great light shirt that wicks quickly and also looks good."
I am very pleased with this shirt, I wear it often. I spent a month in Thailand where the weather was 90 plus degrees with 100% humidity. This was my favorite shirt to wear because of how light it was, how well it breathed, how quickly it dried out and how it dealt with odor. Throughout the month this was my go to shirt and still is because it looks good. I will buy more of these shirts.
"Great shirt, but will smell after long trips"
I had a love/hate relationship with this shirt. I bought it to go on a 5 day trip to the Porcupine Mountains in Michigan's UP. I went in August, so it was very hot and humid. The route we did was pretty hilly and we constantly working up a sweat. After the first day, my shirt was soaked, so I changed out of it to try to dry it out. I could NOT for the life of me get this thing dry. I strapped it to the outside of my pack and hiked all day and it was still damp. The second day we finally arrived at Lake Superior for the night and I was able to dry it by placing it in direct sunlight on a rock on the beach. The rest of the trip the shirt was fine and seemed to dry a lot better. My guess is that the humidity just made it difficult to keep dry. This is a great, comfortable base layer and fits well. Make sure to rinse it out in a stream/lake when you can since it will hold a pretty strong smell after a few days.
"Great base layer or t-shirt for warm weather"
Bought this shirt for warm weather hiking and backpacking, performs up to my standards. Very breathable and drys quickly. Looks good, excellent fit. I'm 5'10 165 the medium fits perfect. Only complaint is the material is a little scratchy but otherwise this is a solid shirt.
"My Go-To Shirt For Hiking & Backpacking"
As the review title says, these are my Go-To Shirts For Hiking & Backpacking, especially since much of what I do is in the warmer climes of Southern California. Ever since Patagonia discontinued their "Patagonia Wool 2 T-Shirt Short-Sleeve - Men's", which I dearly loved, I have gone with these when I go Poly, and I dig that it's 54% recycled polyester. Even when I roll with a wool shirt on a backpacking trip (for obvious reasons), I still bring one of these along. Super-light, and I love the athletic cut. Patagonia makes good stuff. :-)
my upper body is a little wide, so a lot of shirts I get feel restrictive around the armpits, especially if I raise my arms directly in front me me, chest level. But this shirt stretches well and moves very well with the body. The sleeves come just above the elbow, so I wish the sleeves were slightly shorter, but that's just a personal preference. My only complaint is that the shirt feels a little scratchy on the skin.
This shirt rocks. I have it in short sleeve, long sleeve and zip neck. It's a great, lightweight layer that keeps you surprisingly warm for the weight. But it will also let in a nice breeze when worn all alone in warmer climates. Takes weeks of wearing before it will develop even the slightest odor. I wear it almost every day in the winter and my midsection is never cold.
This shirt is perfect for all conditions. Perfect for camping/hiking. Very light weight, never smells and dries very easily after washing. I got a large (6'2 180). Perfect fit, I plan on getting more later. I own the grey shirt and I love it!
"Great T-shirt for any occasion in the outdoors"
This t-shirt is great! Great for the outdoors when the climate is very warm. Easy to move around in while hiking, rock climbing, running, biking, or even just on the go. Also great for layering when its colder out!
This Capilene 2 shirt is the lightest of the Capilene line before getting to the silk weight (not a fan). You can use this shirt as a baselayer to wick sweat away or as a running shirt. If you use as a running shirt....be carefull, it likes to show everyone your gut! This piece is an incredible baselayer. It's one of my favorite pieces for spring and fall trail running when you need to wear something else. You can not go wrong with Patagonia's capilene line, it was great 12 years ago and it keeps getting better. I have 3 of them.
