"Love this shirt, wear it all the time, need a couple more." 04/21/13
5'10", 175lbs, the medium fits perfect. Slim athletic cut without being to tight. The thing that amazes me the most about this shirt is at how well it breathes, yet still insulates well for being a fairly thin light layer. Also dries really quick. So far has held up agaisnt snags and pilling. This really is my favorite tech shirt and the other cool thing is it doesn't look to tech. Like I said i want more of these. Highly recomend.
"Swiss Army Knife of Base Layers" 02/12/13
I love this shirt. It is light enough to fit under my R1, but still comfortable enough to wear either by itself or with a vest over it. I layer it under my dress shirts on colder winter days so I can go for a walk during lunch while others are inside complaining about how cold it is outside. I find that the crew neck actually makes this a more flexible piece than the zip neck. Buy one, you will not regret it. Sizing: I am 5"-8" and 160 lbs, chest 39", arms 33". Sizing guide says I am a medium (too baggy), but I find that the small has a much better fit to it.
"Perfect in every way" 12/29/12
Comfortable, soft, stylish. This shirt is cash money. I wore this under an R1 Hoody and a Snowshot jacket, and it managed moisture and warmth so well, I barely needed to adjust my getup between boarding in the shade and waiting for the lift in sunlight. I felt perfectly prepared for the elements. I feel like this shirt and I will be good buddies for a time to come.
"Great shirt for active, cool weather layering" 11/01/12
This is my "go to" shirt for cool weather trail running and hiking. I wear it by itself in temps from the low 60s to the mid 40s and under an uninsulated shell in temps into the mid 30s. It is very comfortable -- non chafing, quick drying -- and well made. I especially like that the shirt is long, so it will stay put if you tuck it in on a cold day. I am 6'1 and around 190 lbs, and a large fits me well.
"Pretty spiffy" 04/10/12
Not the warmest of like clothes i have worn but hands down best insulators. Alone it gets a bit chilly, depending on weather, but with as little as a cotton shirt of the top, it keeps a body my size (6'1 210) very warm. Material is very comfortable and durable in a way only Patagonia does. Little pricey but if found on sale its a great buy and you shall not regret it.
"Great Baselayer!" 11/21/11
I wear my Capilene 2's everywhere! Both the tops and bottoms! They are the near perfect base layer. The only gripe I have against them is the infamous synthetic stink, but this is hardly Patagonias fault, all syn base layers will start to stink after some sweat is worked through them. I wear this as a single piece when backpacking in the spring/fall and it has held up great! No, rips, tears, pilling, etc.... In fact im on the same pair for the last three years! In camp they make a must have layering piece and awesome sleepwear on those colder nights! I love my Patagonia Capilenes!!
"Great fit and breathability" 11/06/11
The capilene 2 is a little lighter than I was expecting, so I think I may want to try out the capilene 3 for really cold days on the slopes, but it's fits well, and is stretchy so it will move well with your body. My only complaint is that it feels slightly scratchy on the skin.
"Great Layering and Main shirt depending on season and activity!" 09/11/11
While layering this thing is excellent in the winter and chilly mornings of spring and fall. It holds in heat awesome and wicks sweat well not to mention it remains relatively stink free for a couple of uses. I couldn't be happier with this piece.
"Worth every penny" 08/30/11
I bought one of these shirts four years ago. I chose a black one and I wear it almost all year around. After being washed countless times it is still just as black as a new shirt and it is holding up like new. I wear this shirt backpacking, hunting, salmon fishing, at work, and it is my go to weekend shirt on cooler days. It reminds me of a 1981 Mercedes I used to have that I just couldn't wear out or kill after 250,000 miles.
