"Really versatile base layer" 04/20/12
Very comfortable and lightweight, and the construction seems durable. Wicks moisture away well (though I'm not convinced about the effectiveness of the "Gladiodor odor control"). Had my doubts about the elastic waistband, but it never even began to chafe. I'm 5'10" 135 lbs and size S gives me the correct "slim fit". Great for skiing because the fit is loose enough around the ankles and calves that these can be rolled up above the boot rather than being trapped down into it.
"Ideal baselayer" 04/15/12
These have seen the most use as a baselayer under Marmot Scree pants, offers good warmth when hiking in late autumn. Capilene 2 fabric offers great breathability and moisture wicking during aerobic activities. Good value when discounted below MSRP. A medium-long option would be very welcome.
"Everything your looking for" 04/10/12
Not only do these pants wick moisture but with a pair of hiking pants, or pants of any kind, it also keeps legs very warm and dry. Comfortable, durable, and not constricting like one would think with pants hugging that comfortably to your legs. Another great buy if its on sale, at full price, it is a bit steep. But if you invest in these and take care of them, they will undoubtedly take care of you as well.

"Versatile, Breathable, Unbelievable" 02/18/12
Being a former collegiate athlete and current marathoner living near Chicago, I always counted on Under Armour and Nike for baselayers in our frigid winters. Not anymore. While those two baselayers were warm, they were very heavy and sweating made them even heavier. I bought these along with the Merino 3 Zip top and both are measurably lighter in weight than Nike or Under Armour, but keep me warmer while staying dry.One note: I'm 6'3" 195 lbs. and I bought an XL for both and they're a little loose. Check the size guide to make sure you get them fitted how you like. Patagonia and Moosejaw are now my go-to's for any technical fabrics. BUY THESE NOW!
"Warm and Light weight" 02/16/12
Love the Capilene Long Johns. They are surprisingly warm for their weight. They have held up great so far on all my skiing adventures and have kept my legs toasty. They were totally worth the investment and would suggest upgrading too these!
"warm & light" 12/10/11
Super lightweight and warm to match! I used these on the PCT this summer and I can not think of one situation where I was cold in them. Great for walking on colder days as well, no chaffing or rashing, soft material and pretty durable.
"cool !" 11/08/11
I love these Patagonia bottoms, especially as a base layer for skiing. But the 2 is too thin, in my opinion, so go with at least the 3. Even the 3 is thin, but you don't want too much warmth when you'll be active. If you are not planning on being active, then you likely want even warmer than 3.
"I wear these for at least three days without taking them off (or showering)" 04/23/11
When I am on a ski trip I make sure I do two things:1. Ski2. Drink a lot of beerSo when I am not doing those two things I am usually sleeping. I can sweat balls in these things for three days on the mountain before I have to change them and even then I only do so because it keeps my "adult" status. If I was still young and living in the mountains (and skiing everyday), I would probably buy one of those watches with the moon calendar and change these things every time there was a full moon. They will keep you dryer than your mouth after waking up after a night of drinking Irish car bombs at the Silver Dollar Saloon.
"comfy and light" 02/17/11
lightweight, yet very warm, this baselayer is fantastic for warm days, cold days, and everything inbetween. I'm fairly slim and the smalls fit comfortably and dont get too tight anywhere. They also tuck nicely into the ski boots with little to no discomfort. definitely recommending this product!
