"most versatile shirt" 05/19/13
Having purchased few other brand base layers over the years and not being satisfied with the wicking, weight, thickness of the material, etc. I was needless to say skeptical when I tried this one out. I was proven wrong. I wear one nearly every day ( I have purchased 4 ) the moisture management and body temperature regulation are top notch, and the material is amazingly durable for as thin as it is, this is all around a great base layer on its own and insulates well enough to keep you toasty in 20 degrees under a light soft shell. This was my first Patagonia product, since then I am sold on the quality of their gear.
"Great for first layer!" 12/26/11
This product has been a staple in my wardrobe for 12 years now. Warm, comfy, and lasts a long time. I still have my very first one I bought in the late 90's. The only drawback is that over time they begin to have pit stains. However, for something that is so fitted, that is bound to happen. Overall, best of the best!
"Solid long sleeve base layer for underneath a fleece or hoodie" 06/14/11
if you are out doing physical activity in the winter months, you still need a base layer under your fleece/hoodie/jacket. Even though its cold out, you will sweat doing physical activities such as skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, etc. I own a couple of these and they have gotten the job done perfectly. soaking up the sweat of your skin and helping to keep you dry and warm. They can also be used during the summer months as they are lightweight, to perform the same task. But in the case of summer use, the long sleeves also help protect you from the sun. I love mine. Patagonia makes great base layers. Probably my favorite of the few brands I've owned.
"Never hit the trail without a solid baselayer" 04/17/11
the cap 1 is a substantial part of successful layering while out in the wilderness, its lightweight and versatility make for a pleasant hike virtually anywhere. Sweating is inevitable when hiking this baselayer absorbs that sweat and dries quickly keeping you nice and warm.
