Men's Fit Guide Details & Info
Patagonia's measurements refer to body size and NOT garment dimensions. Sorry for yelling about it.
Each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, and below are their generalized four fit descriptions, and details about each fit. The Patagonia fit for each style can be found in the product description features or specifications.
FORMFITTING • Conforms to the body's contours.
SLIM FIT • Closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.
REGULAR FIT • Neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers. Men's regular fit pants have a slimmer fit through that thigh, lower leg, and cuff.
RELAXED FIT • Drapes loosely on the body. Men's relaxed fit pants have a bit of extra room through the hip, thigh, lower, and cuff.

super warm jacket, terrible hoodI love this jacket except for one thing: the hood. The jacket is super warm, very well cut, great pockets. Given that this jacket is so warm, and uses the latest high-tech gore windstopper fabric I assume it is meant to be used in the worst cold/windy conditions. So why the crappy hood? The front does not come up high enough. And the sides do not come around far enough. So, everything from your ears forward is left exposed to the wind/snow etc. It is a very poorly designed hood. Fit: I'm 5-10 175 lbs and the Men's L fits very well, with a little room for layers underneath. If this jacket had even a decent hood I would give it 5 starts.

Does its job well.I recently acquired this jacket, so I don't have in-depth reports to make yet, but initial impressions are very good. The build quality is fantastic. I've worn this jacket for several days now, in temperatures of approximately 4-10 degrees F, wind speeds 10-25 MPH. The jacket is absolutely windproof, and the insulation works extremely well. With a cotton long underwear shirt beneath, I've been completely comfortable. The fit is exceptional for a rather heavily insulated jacket, and is quite trim, yet leaves space underneath for additional layer(s). I'm 6' 0", 175 lbs., and all dimensions on this jacket are excellent in medium size. This is a good piece of kit.

Good all around coat! This coat has the best of a hard shell with insulating properties of jacket. I was looking for a good all around coat with hood and this coat fit the bill. It's fairly thin yet warm enough for late autumn/early winter. I wouldn't recommend it for really cold conditions without also using a base layer unless you're pretty warm blooded. This I would say has insulation similar to the Patagonia Nano Puff Down Sweater. The colors are great on this coat consistent with Patagonia styling. The fit is surprisingly snug for a regular fit coat and actually fit more like a slim fit. I'm 5'6" 170lbs and found a medium tight. You may want to order a size up. The hood fits well and is adjustable and all the pockets are roomy and zippered. All in all, a good all around coat for the elements and everyday wear!
