Bought this for my 10-yr-old son's birthday. Patagonia's cotton is always high-quality & soft but this is very, very soft & nice. Fit is usual Patagonia- not sloppy but not tight, err on the side of larger size than smaller if not sure what size to get for your child. But drapes a bit more than other thicker t-shirts. Not sheer or flimsy however- still high-quality Patagonia.
