Not as warm as I would have hoped. Very comfortable looks great on, however a little wide. Is warmish but would need to layer if it is cold out. Ideal for spring or fall however is still a good layer for winter.is pricey for the quality, not that warm and it has less feathers than the women's or men's version so it is less padded. Still, the jacket is great and is super comfortable.
My 6 year old son got this as a gift. It's light and very warm. I like the height of the collar because it keeps the wind of his neck yet it is not too high. Kids always complain about that and end up unzipping it. Wise grandma got him a size up and surprisingly he is not swimming in it so we will get at least two seasons out of it. I had to wash it recently and it puffed back up nicely in the dryer with a couple of tennis balls thrown in there with it. I like it so much I just ordered a vest on sale. We will take both with us backpacking in the summer for chilly nights. These down things pack up tiny, much better then carrying hoodies or sweatshirts when weight is in issue.
I bought this jacket for myself in two colors. It's lightweight and super warm. I can wear it on cool fall nights into snowy winter. I loved it so much, I bought it for my son. He loves it because it doesn't feel bulky and he can easily put on his back pack and not feel constricted. Only downside is it's not waterproof.
I bought this Patagonia down sweater and think it's one of the best products I've ever purchased. I'm a city dweller, so it hasn't been tested expedition style. But I wear it practically every day of the winter on the outside of my clothes but under my outer coat. That both keeps it clean and keeps me toasty warm. I kick myself whenever I don't bring it on the theory, "Oh, it's warm enough outside." It's almost never so warm in the winter that I couldn't benefit from wearing this very thin, lightweight coat.
