Rated 3 out of 5 by from It gets the job done but could be better. This hat is warm and stays fit to the head just fine, there is no doubt about that. However I have found that the hat isn't exactly long enough to cover the ends of my ear lobes. An extra inch or so in length would be perfect to cover the ears and a little further down the back of the neck. The quality of the hat is impeccable and yet still stylish. Weight wise it seems mediocre to me, could be lighter but at least it isn't heavier. Overall it makes a great hat for around town not so sure it would be my choice in the mountains though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cap. I was in 20º temps and bought the Patagonia beanie in logo bellway - forge gray at a local shop. I'm not a fan of the gigantic lettering but the quality, fit and insulation provided is great on my head (hat size 7 1/4). I really appreciate how it fits snugly over my ears to block the cold. I liked it so much that after returning home I called and ordered another one, in fitz roy line - black.,,I'm very happy with my caps and, as always, it's a pleasure to buy from Moosejaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Perfect Cap For The Noggin This cap is super comfortable! It has multiple stitch seams across the top so it fits even around your head, not tighter in front and back than sides. It feels very soft, yet durable for outdoor use. It is large enough to pull over your head and cover your ears, not to baggy or tight like some. You wont regret this cold weather noggin warmer!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small While my wife would say otherwise I consider myself to have an average sized head. This hat, while of good quality and design is just flat out small. My 4-year old now has a new winter hat. If I didn't read the description properly when I purchased the hat please disregard this review in lieu of: This is a great kids hat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps your head warm My head gets cold and I have purchased many beanies over the years. For fall, spring and winter activities, I had been wearing either a MH fleece or a SW wool beanie. The problem with the SW is that once soaked with sweat, it takes more then 1 day to dry out and while wool still retains some warmth, having a soaked beanie on my semi-bald head when it is windy and below freezing makes me feel cold. The MH fleece beanie works better but is too thin for colder temps .. a better helmet liner and fall/spring use. I have worn my new P beanie hat on some windy and cold days and am quite happy with the effectiveness, fit and comfort. I wear a size 7-1/4 Tilley hat and the beanie hat just covers my ears so take heed of other reviewers statements about fit. As a comparison, I also wear the P speedway in really cold temps and that beanie is a little big (still love it) and the Cap 4 beanie covers my eyes! Now this beanie goes everywhere with me except running since I have a R1 hoody.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, but Functional This is a fine beanie for walking between winter classes, going to work, or just hanging out. As far as actual winter outdoor pursuits, I would recommend something heavier that goes down around the ears. I've got a average/slightly larger head and this thing only pulls down halfway down my ears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great beanie This is one of my go to beanies and the most comfortable one, too. Wool is great because it’s the best insulator and somehow they got it to not itch. This thing is super soft and it breathes well. I didn’t have any problems washing it as long as you lay it to dry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from covers ears, comfy This hat has kept me pretty warm even in fierce winds. It's long enough to cover ears but doesn't look silly. I'm a girl with a kind of small head and usually hats that cover ears just look ridiculous on my tiny noggin. The wool is not itchy.
