The Patagonia Baby Snow Pile Jacket is a waterproof insulated jacket for cold, wet winters. The Baby Snow Pile allows your little one to explore snow, without getting cold or wet. The outer shell consists of Patagonia's 2-layer polyester H2No® Performance Standard, a waterproof/breathable barrier against rain, snow, and even drool. It will also protect against a whipping wind as you go from house to car to store and back again. Packed on the inside is 200g Quallofil® insulation at the hood and body where baby needs it most and 150g high-loft polyester at the sleeves. The hood is 3-paneled so it wraps the head better and is removable in case it's getting in the way in the car seat or stroller. Elastic at the cuffs wraps the wrist to prevent drafts, with a Grow-fit feature in the sleeve to add an additional 1.5 inch for extended wear. Complete with a durable water repellent finish to prevent moisture from soaking into the fabric surface, it's time for some snowman building.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.
