The Patagonia Ascensionist 25L Pack is a lightweight pack for one-day ascents to the top of the mountain. A single main compartment provides plenty of space for your climbing gear, extra layers, and water with a simple, fast one-cord closing system. The lid pulls over top and shuts with a webbing strapfor additional weather-resistance and security for your gear. The thin and durable daisy chains reduce weight and provide lash points for additional gear and end in drop-through ice axe loops that secure your axes against the outside of the pack with bungee cords. The webbing-only waist belt is minimalist and removable to make room for a harness. Streamlined so you can make your way up the mountain and back without restriction.

solid, ultralight summit/climbing packMy first impression upon receiving this was how durable the nylon felt. I thought she would be a little fragile but far from it. It's super light and packs into a larger pack quite well. I LOVE the spindrift collar lid, let's you oversuff, carry a rope, and doesn't flop around. there's no side cores sion straps which is okay but it can feel a little lopsided when you got a bunch of cams at the bottom. Overall I love the well thought out simplicity of the whole thing climbs very well compared to any other pack. 35l would hold more if you're winter alpine climbing if you bivvy but for summit in or done in a day the space would be superfluous and I'd rather have this.

Thoughtful DesignThe pack is surprisingly light weight, and very minimalist. Only one pocket (on the top of the flap), so don't expect any internal organization pockets...there are none. Holds an amazing amount for the stated 25L capacity. The closure and lashing mechanism is quite ingenious...lets you overstuff the bag with minimal penalty, or under fill it and still compress the load. Removable hip belt is a nice touch, though I have yet to use it.

True alpine packThis pack is for the true alpinist, no frills, no bling just totally functional super light weight alpine pack. This pack would be a bad choice if hauling on rock but for lighting fast accents where every ounce counts this is the right choice.
