These pants run small.Disclaimer: I like my hiking pants loose and gender neutral people. For those of you who want them to fit like some jeans you wear to the club....no. ,,Usually a size 4, I ordered a size 6 and while they fit better, meaning comfortable in the waist and loose, they were still too short in length and the crotch-y area wasn't...lining up? It felt like it needed to be higher. Now I am around 5'6 and a long-legged person, for those of you with normal to shorter legs you'll have an easier time with sizing. I ordered a size 8 next which will no doubt be long enough, loose enough, and hopefully not too big in the waist. The adjustable belt is a super neat bonus. Other thoughts: The pockets aren't super deep in the front but are lined with mesh. Also, the seam where the pants zip off feels a little weird at first but you might just have to bond with the pants to get more comfortable (or suck it up because you wanted the kind that zipped).

Some people would say Bad Ass. I say, keep trying and getting closer!I purchased clay color which is what you want if you go to places where being neutral is a plus from critters ( insects and preditors ) like in Alaska, Africa, Madagascar, Amazon etc. (yes, I have been to these places.). ,, Reading the reviews I went up a size though I'm built like a boy so, I don't have a lot of curves to take up space ( no judgement ). So, if you're less curvey stay true to size. I prefer a looser fit; one, places I have gone are not stylish, statement destinations; second, it allows for an air pocket to keep you comfortable in heat and keeps "biters" from your skin.,,( don't want to diswade those whom would buy them for casual/ recreation attire- they're good ). Oh, the belt, a plus.,,The zipper on the leg is good if you wear high lace hiking boots and makes getting socks off /on easily. Suggestion, addition of snaps would allow tightening of the leg at the ankle which is benificial.,,Yes, they're keepers.
