Exceeds Expectations!Okay, just got my Mithrilite Jacket and I wore it on a bad ass mixed climb in Rocky Mountain National Park, CO. Well...the route was mixed but it was a mix of rock and water...no ice left because conditions were warm. The water was pouring off the rock but it beaded up and bounced off this jacket. Bounced off!!! I stayed completely dry from the water but the jacket is also breathable so I stayed dry even though i was sweating the lead. Love the front chest pocket...kept my route description in there. My climbing harness obscures the other two pockets but they would be great if wearing the jacket during other uses (backpacking, hiking, around town). Sides are vented with zippers.

Serious Product...if neededThis is a high quality, high tech garment. It seemed to fit TTS. I would not be using this with a helmet so I have to say: The hood is ENORMOUS! I could pull it down over my face to my chest!,,The fabric is high quality and I believe it would be completely water proof based on what I read on the tags. I tried this jacket because I needed a "real" waterproof jacket that i could use all year long. I wanted to be able to use it in summer and use it in winter with layers. This would fit the bill for a very serious outdoorsy winter person. It seems to be targeted to skiers, snowboarders or others who spend a lot of time outside with a helmet on their noggin.,,SO, I sent the Mithrilite back and kept the Eider Women's Yosemite II Jacket. It's soft, comfy and the hood fits.
