"Best jacket ever." 12/19/11
I LOVE this jacket, the gore is great for rain and snow. Only problem is it isnt pac light gore, so it isnt super light and compressible for backpacking, but for skiing it couldn't be any better. Fits athletically and to curves, and is very slimming. sealed zippers keep water out, pit zips open from the hip. pockets are a little higher than most jackets, but are deep so nothing falls out if left unzipped. has inner zips for money, cards, cell phone. hood can go over helmet for those super snowy days.overall: buy this, you wont regret it and will love every bit of this jacket.
"Perfect foul weather gear." 09/06/11
I live in Squamish BC - no better place for a jacket like this. Light enough for warm weather rain but sturdy enough in cool weather. I’m 5'7", 155lbs, 34C . LARGE fits well - allows for a few cozy layers in the winter but not overly baggy with a tshirt in the summer. Pit zips help with temp control. The hood is MASSIVE. Would fit over a helmut and someone with huge hair. I have to keep my hair in a ponytail or up with a clip in order to keep the hood out of my eyes - so that would be my only beef with the jacket - it needs better hood control (the clip on the back of the hood seems to not work on my jacket). I ordered the black/charcoal color... exciting? No. But is a great neutral.
"great gortex coat! I actually own 2!" 12/15/10
I used this coat on several 21 day winter expeditions in the Cascade mountains of Oregon. It is great in snow and sleet, plus it blocks the wind well. I found if I was moving my heat kept it completely dry, sitting around I was more likely to get damp, but I NEVER got soaked. The coat dries out quickly too. I love the full body pit zips and the pull tie on the hood makes a great fit not matter how many hats you wear. Most importantly this coat runs wicked small. I am a size meduim, but I bought a large for everyday use (I put a fleece under it) and an XL for winter camping (so I can fit a down vest under it).
