The Women's Crocodiles Gaiters by Outdoor Research. Like their namesakes, Crocs have been around forever. The instep strap is replaceable, and an additional tab holds the front opening down, but otherwise they remain unchanged. The fitted design and durable, waterproof fabrics are as effective now as ever.

"Fantastic" 01/23/11
These gaiters are great! They come up to just below your knees and keep snow and water and snakes out of your boots. (I may be lying about the snakes but I do know someone who while wearing OR gaiters did manage to not get bitten by a snake). Overall, these are a great product and super durable.

Yeah, I said it, Bomb-Diggity. They did the job they were supposed to do during my two week backpacking trip and they just rocked it out.Seriously, if they could sing a song, it would for sure be something by the Lady Ga Ga. I do love these. I wish it were acceptable to wear them around town, but, at least in the circles I peruse, it isn't. Sigh.So for now, I just use them whilst camping. Oh, I washed them, and they came out fine. So I think they are pretty durable and all.

I used these gaiters out my first time ice climbing and they worked great. The fabric is tough, so my pants were protected when I slipped. It also was good for hiking through the woods just to get to the routes. I'd definitely recommend them. My only complaint is that they were pretty hard to hook onto the boot laces, but that goes for all gaiters as far as I know.

Love these gaiters. I had a pair of low gaiters and was not real inpressed, but I got these and hiked the next day in the snow in the Great Smoky Mts. Did I mention that I loved them. I am like the messiest hiker ever, doesn't matter how dry the trail is I end up with dirt all over my legs... Not with these, take them off and no more dirt getting on the car on my way back home... did I mention that I love 'em. Have worn them every time I have hit the woods since the Jaw dropped them on my doorstep.
"Functional, cute, perfecto!!!" 11/29/06
Okay, I know, gaiters aren't suppose to be cute. They're functional gear, I know, I know! But still- they're CUTE! And yes, on a mountain or in the woods it matters to me. Why? Well, I have a boyfriend who likes to photograph at all moments in time and although my hair is matted from no shower and my face is dirty from all the mud, my legs look cute in these gaiters. Oh, and yes, I suppose I should tell you that they are incredibly functional as well. Yes, they keep you warm, dry and scratch free (especially useful for those of us who are less than graceful). They adjust easily, they come off easily, they last a long time. I like them so much I'm buying another pair!
