"Great for running" 02/27/12
I usually use this hat for running as the warmth/weight ratio is pretty good. The inside rim is fleece lined which helps warm things up a bit. It dries quickly and I've had no problems in the wash. I does leave a little extra room at the top instead of fitting snugly to your head but that of course depends on the size of your head...just something to be aware of if you're looking for a skull cap.
"Stops wind so well you won't hear your boss talk!" 12/16/11
Best wind stopping hat I've had yet. Its warm out in single digits and cuts the wind from cutting through your dome piece. Only draw back I've experienced is it may be hard to hear people talk, that or I need a hearing test.
"Awesome!" 11/10/11
This hat is great it fits great around my head. very windproof, very warm. i have used this hat in temperatures that dip into single digits and this hat has done the job well. the only draw back that i have had is the reflective layer of OR peeling off. I still have the OR logo its just not reflective anymore.
"Wind Stopper" 08/29/11
This hat is super comfortable, pretty light and stops the wind. I like the extra insulation around the ears. Pretty good looking too.
"Great Athletic Beanie" 06/23/10
I wore this thing up Mt. Ranier and it kept me toasty and comfortable the whole way. Does a great job of cutting the wind and will actually even bead up light mist/moisture. OR reflective logo is a nice added safety feature. Also, for those of you with big domes, mine is also enormous but the L/XL fit like a dream (all the way over my ears) with room to spare. Very happy with this product.
"Holy Hijinks Batman, it must be Catwoman." 02/14/08
I'll start with the aesthetics, my only real complaint. When wearing this hat, the square cut of the top leaves two little cat ears on top of your head leaving you look like Cat Woman or a Japanese Anime character. Other than that, the hat is pretty darned good. It stays put, stretches really well allowing you to cover your ears entirely and even extends over the back of your neck if need be. Add in the wind blocking abilities, waterproofness and the killer lightweight and you have a great warm hat. Since it's so stretchy, you can fold up the lower brim and just wear it over the top of your head and pull it down when things get real nasty and cold. Wearing it in this fashion also eliminates
