Designed to keep your pants up, and they do exactly that! These are great suspenders. They do what suspenders are supposed to do and they do it well. There isn't much to a suspenders outside of materials and craftsmanship and these suspenders are in no way lacking in those departments. They are velcro and are capable of snagging on thin base layers, but I typically do not have that problem. If it was something you are concerned with you could easily fashion some sort of sleeve to slip over the velcro to deny it access to your other articles of clothing. I would recommend these for anyone looking for an adaptable suspender that does not have any bulky or heavy hardware.

Umm...great of holding up my pantsThis have a low profile and won't interfere with your pack straps etc. The really BIG plus is the fact that you don't have to worry about your packs hip-belt from pushing your pants down and causing your crotch to sag (crotch of your pants...not your actual crotch...that takes a completely different type of suspenders...trust me). I use them to hold up my softshell pants for snowshoeing in the Adirondacks and I am very pleased. These also allow me to hang wet gear within my jacket to dry them off.

No more worry about the pack pulling your pants downI'm 5'11" and these work perfectly for me. If your really tall(6'2" or more) they may be a little small. Haven't come across a bad OR product yet.
