These do not attach to normal shoes/boots.These do not attach to normal shoes/boots because the shoe or boot will require a special Velcro strip on the heal to hold them. None that I have or ever have had in my life had such a strip...

Looking for a light pair of gaiters to keep grit/stones out of my wife's boots. Do these work OK with boots or are they more of a shoe gaiter? Also wondering about sizing. She has wears a US size 7 and has skinny ankles. Will they be loose at the top?

Thanks for the question! The Sparkplug Gaiters are designed for trail shoes. They will not be tall enough to be of any benefit with her boots. The best suggestion I have (that will also be adjustable at her ankle) is the Outdoor Research Women's Wrapid Gaiter. You can check them out with the link below. In terms of sizing, she will be a Small. I hope this helps!
