"awesome hat!" 05/05/12
This hat was totally awesome-- I bought it for my husband as a birthday gift, and it has been on his head for 2 complete summers. Protected his face when he built our shed, and lined our driveway and did all sorts of other work in the yard. Worked great hiking the mountains in Colorado, paddling out on the kyak, and trekking the Appalachian trial. After 2 years, the wire rim is getting a little bent up, so it might get replaced this summer, but it was worth every penny these past 2 years.
"Great for sun but not wind" 10/18/11
So I live in FL and have taken this hat everywhere. It is perfect for a sunny, humid, otherwise dreadfully hot day. I was super surprised that my head doesn't get hot in it. The adjustable internal head strap is particularly useful. The one problem with it is that the brim is pretty floppy and if the wind picks up even a little the brim pops up. This forces you on windy days to look down while you walk which is not particularly fun. Also this means it is not a great hat for boating at speed. But for just hiking along in the middle of a hot Florida swamp you can't beat it!
"Had to have it" 04/24/11
My wife had to have it to keep up with the "Jones". Her friend has one, loves it and my wife didn't want to be different. Go figure. She likes the fact that it is breathable and will keep the sun off of her neck and face. If mama's happy, I'm happy.
