"Mitts that keep hands and fingers very toasty warm while providing decent mobility"
I like these mitts alot. I went from an old pair of sherpa lined leather mits to these and there's no looking back. I thought it was typical for fingers to get cold while wearing mitts and gloves, but I learned this isn't true with the OR mitts. I ordered an XL size in these mitts and their fit is great. I have eough room in the finger and thumb compartments, I'm not hitting the end and there's not too much material either. I"ve used these mitts for work, snow removal, walking dogs, and hiking and the mitts performed as good as a pair of mitts can. Almost to a fault becuase I can remove the inner layer and my hands typically stay warm with justh the shell. The magnets in the flaps hold the flaps back well. It's easy to flip the flaps off and on without much effort. Removing the inner layer is easy. Installing the inner layer takesa little effort, mainly to get them straight, but a fter a few practice runs, it's easy. Certainly not a reason to skip over this pair.
Hubby says his paws are toasty warm even at the end of a long day on the mountain in a blizzard. The liner is also a mitten so your fingers are all cozy together, but you can open the flap in the liner if you need to use them. The little magnets that hold the flaps down are slightly awkward, but he says they didn't bother him after a while. They go pretty far down your wrists too so you don't have to worry about snow getting up inside. Our only complaint is that the liner was stitched incorrectly and had a hole...Moosejaw promptly replaced them with a new pair, but they also had the flaw. No biggie, just sewed it shut. Otherwise, these rock.
