"Lots of confusion" 12/07/11
i was riding my bike to the store with this on (SUPER WARM) and I get there, lock up my bike, look at my watch only to find out that I have 5 minutes to ride 4 miles back to work. Beastmode engaged. So I'm running through the store with this and my headphones on, I guess they thought I was a robber because my boss had to come bail me out. Its super warm for any kind of winter activity though. I think the name should be "Geurilla" instead of "Gorilla" though.

What's there not to like....it is warm and flexible. Positioning the pull-across nose and mouth covering is fast and easy. I used this for a photography trip in Yellowstone last February and my face was never cold for a moment.
"Awesome Balaclava, Great for Horseback Riding" 12/11/10
I know all my fellow equestrians out there know how hard it is to find truly great winter riding gear out there! This fits great under my normal helmet and the removable facemask works even with my chin harness buckled. Inbetween this and my glasses, it makes legging up horses in two feet of snow enjoyable!
"Works well with some adjusting" 11/14/10
This does what it says, but does require some adjusting to get it just right. The front piece velcros on and the main hood velcros shut (Closes). So it does require a little fine tuning once on. It isn't really insulated so I would suggest a thin warm liner under it on windy days. I tried it out in a -20 degree freezer for a couple hours. Only the top of my head got a little cold, but then again I shave my head.

I bought this as an extra layer for field work. It fits nicely under my peruvian hat and holds in the heat like no other. It feels thin, but that thin layer does wonders for keeping your face warm. The removable face mask is a nice touch. The only thing is your breathing may cause condensation to build up inside the face mask. It didn't really bother me... besides the fact that my breath reeked of peanut butter. If your breath is fresh, its like a little sauna for your face. Overall, awesome balaclava and worth the money in my opnion.
"Very warm, fits well, difficult to wear with motorcycle" 04/09/09
After much searching I found this to be the best one out there; and I was right. It is breathable, warm, and waterproof! I had some difficulty with the front face piece while trying to fit a full face motorcycle helmet over it, but other than that the removable face piece is an awesome addition! It covers the neck area well. I use it for backpacking and biking in cold weather, but would also do well skiing.

I recommend this to anyone that wants to stay warm in VERY cold temps. Only thing is, I lost the face mask part and that really stinks. So In a way I wish it was attached instead of just Velcro, but then again I am good at losing stuff all the time!
