"Warm-weather complement to the Seattle Sombrero" 07/16/11
I love OR's Seattle Sombrero, but it does not perform well in extreme heat. Enter the Sol Hat. This thing is extremely breathable yet still provides fantastic protection from the sun. Note that unlike the sombrero, there is no velcro on the sides to fasten up the flaps for the cowboy look. There is a lace lock on the back of the brim to adjust the fit around the dome, which is great. The chin strap is also removable.
