Moosejaw Staff Pick
"So there I was, limping down the Big Burn only half clipped into my snowboard, and I hit a tree... hard. Every part of me hurt, but my Outdoor Research Mentor Pants still looked sexy fresh. I have put them through a lot, both here in Michigan and in Colorado, and they are by far my favorite piece of winter gear. The articulated construction makes walking easy, the Gore Tex Pro Shell keeps me dry and comfy, and suspenders that clip off when you don't need them are a pretty sweet feature too. Whether you are at 14,000 feet in February or butt sliding down the local sledding hill, the Mentor Pants will last and last. Trust me."

"Well worth the $Cabbage$!" 11/12/11
I have been using these this fall and as we head into early winter. I layer these with a set of level 4 thermals under and have thicker insulating pants (OR Neoplum) to go under but the thermals have proven enough in 20-30 degree weather. These pants are very compact and can store easily in a three day pack until their use is necessary. Additional to alpine touring, X-Country, Back Country they are very durable with the abrasion guards around the inner ankles if and when working on ATV's, Snowmobiles, etc. They are highly flexible and have not restricted my mobility. The pockets are typically OR durable and work well. I found the sizing a bit on the small side.
