"could have been great" 03/09/11
I'm sad to say that this jacket did not quite live up to my expectations. The flaw that bugs me the most is that the main zipper is woefully designed. There is the tiniest amount of excess shell material on the inside of the jacket, just next to where the zipper is. It gets stuck in the zipper. A lot. A LOT a lot. Completely annoying, and unfortunately, this one small flaw renders the jacket almost useless. What is the point of wearing a jacket whose main zipper gets stuck literally every time you try to get it on and off? Serious design flaw. Sent it back... sad day. Probably a pretty good jacket, though, if you can get over the sticking zipper (like I couldn't).
"This is the best shell that I have ever owned" 01/08/11
I love this shell. I needed a new shell for backcountry skiing in Colorado, and I could not be happier with this shell. Not only is it perfect for the backcountry, but I used it on a subzero day at the resort with a down jacket under it for a perfect match. It is the perfect weight, the pit zips are great and easy to use. I prefer these over the underarm pit zips that can be hard to zip. A nice bonus is the built in balaclava. You can leave it attached to the shell and still put it on, or unzip it and use it without the jacket. I am super psyched on this jacket and would definitely recommend this jacket!
