"Great looking, versatile softshell"  12/19/11

I bought this jacket to use it as a winter bicycle commuting jacket in Seattle, with some winter camping trips thrown in. This jacket is great, the cut is trim and athletic, but still allows for some layering. Breathable, but protective against the elements at the same time. The waterproofed panels are in the exact spots they need to be. The hood fits over my helmet and moves well when I look around. Double cuffs with thumbholes are great too, I prefer that to adjustable tabs. Some things could be improved. The vents could be situated better, they do not vent as well because of this. The back panel does pill up a little bit. But this is a great looking, versatile softshell/hardshell hybrid.

"Great all around softshell with hardhsell parts where it matters."  12/18/11

I picked this up as a winter bicycle commuting jacket, which in Seattle means a lot of rain and temps that can get down into the 20's. Nice slim athletic cut, waterproof panels on the shoulders, upper chest, sleeves and bottom tail portion of the back. Water resistant everywhere else. Breathable. I do wish the vents with up into the armpits, as they don't seem to vent very well the way they are now. But this is an awesome, versatile jacket. Works well in crisp dry cold weather, and in cool rainy wet weather alike. It's made for ice-climbing, so I would expect nothing less.
