The Helmetclava by Outdoor Research. Thoughtfully constructed to provide protection under a helmet, the Helmetclava keeps you warm in stormy conditions. WINDSTOPPER Soft Shell fabric is used where the worst of the weather hits; your face and front of the neck. Soft, insulating Motion Fleece at the back of the neck provides added warmth. Thermodynamic fabric at the crown and ear panels fits smoothly under a helmet without bulk and doesn't block sound from traveling to your ears so that you can hear everything your partner communicates to you. A laser die-cut breathing port and breathable fabric allows body heat and the moisture of breath to escape.

"Good quality, but could be warmer." 01/10/11
I have worn this product snowboarding and to NFL games, when the temperature was in the teens and 20's. It is relatively wind resistant, but if you are looking for a warm balaclava, I would probably go one that is made of fleece, or at least has a fleece lining.
"Pretty good, not great. Face section is really warm, head section rides back on the head." 12/16/10
Since both my boys drive, I have been riding my motorcycle a lot lately even though it has gotten as cold a 24 degrees. That said, you can be comfortable riding in cold weather if you have the right gear so I got this hood to go under my helmet. This product is definately designed to go under a helmet and the material for the head is thin enough to fit comfortably under the helmet and the face section if very warm. My only issue with it is that the head section tends to ride back a bit exposing your forhead which is alright as long as you don't mind letting the cold air make you feel like someone is driving a SPIKE through your forhead.
"very comfortable but maybe too cool on top" 11/09/09
I haven't had this too long, but I have taken it out on some cold nights. It is very comfortable and can be adjusted any way you wish. The holes almost make it better than any other just for sake of breathing free and clear, but they don't let too much cold through. That goes a long way to keeping my glasses from getting fogged up, but they still don't shape around the nose completely to fully keep that from happening. Though, if it's real bad, I'd probably be wearing goggles which would seal it. The only downside is that these really were designed specially for helmet use, so the top fabric is not very warm. If you don't have a helmet, you'll need to put something else over it.
