"Nice hat, just don't like the stylign for myself"
Good functional hat, high quality material and construction. Outdoor Research products never disappoint me in that regard. Just not digging the styling, no particualr reason, maybe the brim was too big for my taste but others might want that for sun/rain protection.
I have taken this hat everywhere from a week long on the AT in 200 F + temps (ok it was only in the 90's with sun, rain, and everything in between and I was definitely glad my girlfriend made me pick one up. Also have used it on long days in the canoe scrapping bottom on the Shenandoah and it protected my head..neck.. shoulders from the wrath of the giant orange in the sky. It packs down to next to nothing and when pulled out the brim pops right back in place.
Without this hat I would have roasted in the sun. It also protected my from the rain which awesome. Being white it does show the dirt really easy but I think that just adds character. It also worked great after having it folded up in my pack, it still maintained its shape and did not just flop down.
"Must have if you have to stay in the sun"
i bought this hat when i went to some Asia countries. It will protect you from the sun, cover your face. it's also very comfortable every times i have to go to other country like vietnam, cambodia. i always choose this hat
I where it all the time. Holds its shape real well after being packed tight in my pack. Someone suggested getting a size larger than you think you need and use the draw string to make it fit. I say get the right size. Still though, I love my hat.
I got this hat to protect my self from the sun while outdoors. Last time out fishing all day i got burned with just a ball cap on. This hat is really nice, the fit/finish is superb. The hat has got an adjustable strap in the band so it is customizable as far as how tight it fits your head and the chin strap will keep you from loosing it if it did happen to get blown off your head. I am very happy with the hat.
I have a 23 1/8" melon and the large fits well. Anything more than that go with the XL because this hat is adjustable. It does not have a mesh lining on the inside but the material is light and breathable. It does what it should and keeps the sun off your face and is a light hat. It is lighter in weight than most baseball caps and provides much better sun protection.
