The Drifter Cap by Outdoor Research. This ball cap is made of waterproof Gore-Tex Paclite fabric and fully seam taped for complete protection. A shaped bill sheds precipitation and deflects sunlight. A drawcord adjustment offers security when sudden squalls try to bare your head.

This is a must have hat if you're an avid outdoorsman! Great for trail running or if you're just going for a weekend trip. You won't go wrong with this hat!!

"I liked it so much I bought a second one." 03/08/11

I actually hate ball caps. However, the hood on my Arcteryx shell really needs some support to work properly....hence the Goretex hat. I was just hoping for protection from the rain, so my expectations may have been low, but I am very happy with this hat for the following reasons: It stops rain great like all goretex ; it is super comfortable and light and fits me perfect-I love the way the hat tightens also; it looks awesome (black and sandstone) and it has that awesome reflective logo. I lik it so much it is my go to hat even when it does not rain. I am thinking about cornering the market and buying a third hat.

"The large size fits well for larger heads" 11/14/10

I have tried on a bunch of the gore-tex baseball caps out there and none of them fit as well as this one for a large head. Originally, I was skeptical about the styling with the draw-string, but when I got it, it actually looked pretty good. The taping on the seams looks really well done (it's no Arc'teryx but still pretty good). Also, the internal elastic band is nice and wicks sweat nicely. If you want a nice hat that will repel water, this is a pretty good bet.

"Keeps your head dry as promised!" 10/25/10

I just had a chance to try out my new Outdoor Research Drifter hat yesterday (took my dog for a walk in a rainstorm). It kept my head dry, which is why I bought it. I also took my dog for a walk early this morning in a cold wind (yeah, I love my dog), and the hat stopped the wind (also why I bought it). Like all Outdoor Research products, it's very well made. My only criticism is that I need a hat in a large and having it only as a Large/Xtra Large means it's a little big. TIP: if it's a little big, when you put it on, "burp" it like you do with Tupperware lids (otherwise you'll have a balloon head effect). The cinch strap in back works well to take up the space and keep it on your head.

"Fully Sealed" 06/18/10

I guess I should be happy with what this hat is, which is a fully sealed waterproof cap with a visor that keeps the rain (and sun) out of my eyes. Unfortunately I sometimes dwell on the negative, which for this hat is that which makes it waterproof also provides somewhat of a steamroom effect on my noggin. I suppose the answer is that I need two hats, one for the sun and heat, and one when it rains, this one doesn't do both, but it works for the rain part.

"Buy it! You will not be disappointed." 06/17/08

I love this cap! Very breathable, very water repellent. Good colors to choose from. Outdoor Research's sizing guide is pretty accurate. Not sure why some of the other posters are complaining about tight fit. Mine is just a tad big and I cinched it down with the drawstring for a perfect fit.

"Excellent value in high quality gear." 03/21/08

This is a great hat. Packs well, recovers well from packing.Looks great. Ambiguous log so you can pretty much make up anything you want when someone asks. And the logo is reflective so you don't get run down in the darkness like an opposum. The custom sizing with the drawstring is great too. Starts off big for big heads or big hair. Can be nicely tightened down for high winds natural or vehicle speed. Sealed seams help make this an excellent hat for foul weather. The most awesome thing is that my your hair today rating zoomed up an amazing four points after using this hat in some pretty rough weather.
