I'm 5'10" and this pack in a medium fits me perfectly. It has PLENTY of room for my gear and could easily work for a week long backpacking trip if you go ultralight with most of your gear.

"Very comfy midsize pack. Fits short people really well!" 		          07/28/09
I'm 5'0" and the small actually fits me! And fits me well! I have a 15.5" torso, so it is rare that I can get enough adjustability to really fit me. I tried on a BUNCH of 50-60L packs before deciding on the Ariel, not only because adjusted to my small torso, but also because of how effectively and comfortably it transferred weight to my hips. It's plenty big for a 4-5 day long trek if you pack light. My first trip with it was a 5 day back pack outside of Yosemite and it was great.

"A Cinderella Story" 		          03/25/09
Once upon a time, there was a short (5'2) girl who had to rely on borrowing packs for trips. She tried friends' packs but none fit. Backpacking hurt her back. One day, it was Christmas, and she got the (small) Ariel 55. Now she has a backpack that fits perfectly but still has plenty of room for all of her gear. And it won't turn into a pumpkin at midnight. That would be gross. The end.

"Sweet pack!" 		          02/18/09
Just got back from a 3 day backpacking trip in the Superstition Mountains with this pack. 3 days of food and gear was really all I could get into this pack. Pros: -Super light and super cool looking -lots of strappy things on outside to hook stuff on -comfy hip belt and harness -water bladder pocket Cons: -no pockets on hip belt -no side access to main compartment -kinda smallish for long distance hikes, better for long weekends (unless you are one of those ultra light crazies) Moral of the story: You should buy this pack. I loaded it up to 30 lbs of crap and barely noticed it was on my back. I want to wear it every day.

"Light and comfortable pack" 		          06/12/08
The Ariel 55 is an upgrade from the big old man pack I bought 10 years ago that I realize did not fit at all. This form fitting pack transfers the weight of the pack directly to the hips which is great...my old pack almost pulled me backward off a mountain once or twice but with the Ariel hiking is not only more comfortable but safer too!

This bag is really awesome! A lot of packs I tried out didn't work for me fit-wise because I happen to be very vertically challenged 5' 1'' but the Ariel 55 fit perfectly. Is extremely lightweight too, very easy to adjust and very durable. Great pack for short or weekend backpacking and climbing trips!

"Best Women's Pack Available at an Affordable Price" 		          03/20/07
I bought this pack for a trip to Southeast Asia. I've tried on over a dozen different kinds of internal frame backpacks and this one was by far THE most comfortable… even with 35 lbs. loaded into it!! I have pretty weak lower back muscles so the back cushioning is extremely comfortable and I hope will save me a lot of back pain on this trip. The Airscape backpanel should be great in tropical weather. The thin padded shoulder straps are perfect for someone as pint-sized as I am. I'll also be getting the hipbelt custom molded at a local camping supply store who has an Osprey CM oven, luckily free of charge.

This pack is amazing. I am not a girl, so I bought this pack for my at the time girlfriend. The features on the pack are very well thought out and not so overbearing as to make the pack intimidating. It's no good when a pack has 100 straps coming from all sorts of angles and pockets out the wazoo. The pack is amazingingly comfortable even for a guy who is a foot too tall for it.
