The Osprey Volt 75 Pack is an adjustable pack for three to seven day backpacking trips. This hauler is not only ready to help heft your gear onto your back, but it's loaded with features to make it all easier. Before setting off, the torso adjustment should be set, while the Fit-on-the-Fly™ Hipbelt can be done before and during your hike. Small items that need quick access can be tucked into the hipbelt pockets, while the top pocket can stuffed with maps and compass. The lower half of the bag features a compartment specifically for your sleeping bag and straps on the exterior for your sleeping pad. This way you'll have a nicely balanced pack on your back and you'll always know where your bed is. Utilize the compression side straps for low-volume weekends, but don't forget your hydration reservoir (sold separately), as there is a very specific slot behind the backpanel for it.

Osprey High Road Chassis

Osprey High Road Chassis
All Osprey wheeled travel packs utilize Osprey’s proprietary High Road™ Chassis featuring an ergonomic retractable handle with integrated vent fins, a 6001 Aluminum frame, ultra-durable and light-weight composite base with a fiberglass matrix inlay and integrated foot/grab handle, over-sized high traction polyurethane wheels with sealed bearings and a high clearance design.

Osprey Custom Molding

Osprey Custom Molding
When the loads get heavy, a supportive and effective hipbelt can support that weight. Osprey custom heat molds their hipbelt to you, eliminating hotspots, chaffing and bruising. This combines the best of a stiff, load bearing hipbelt with the cushioned comfort you need most when trekking with all your gear.

Osprey Peripheral Frame

Osprey Peripheral Frame
Peripheral frame was a departure from the norm many years ago and it’s still the foundation of our gear hauling packs. A wire frame runs along the outside of the backpanel directly connecting the upper load lifters and the central core of the pack to the hipbelt to transition and spread the load. Allowing natural torsional movement, effective adjustable torsos, and different load range and backpanel builds makes this suspension design truly innovative.

OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack, Great Value, Quality construction My first backpack for hiking and fishing trips. since I am new to this, i didn't want to spend big money on a pack that had a bunch of bells and whistles that i didn't need. I just wanted a basic pack thats quality built, comfortable and big. This Volt pack met all my requirements and I cant' wait to get out and use it this summer. I am planning a fishing trip through the Rawah wilderness this summer. It's gonna be great!! Thanks Moosejaw for the great deal on this backpack!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. I had done a 25 mile hike with the wrong equipment and paid the price. Decided to purchase this pack and have had it on several short trips and it is a night and day difference. Feels amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Versatile, Big I was so impressed with my daughter's Viva 65 that I decided to get this pack for myself. She's put a lot of miles on her Viva and my Volt has only been on one trip, but I wanted to post this review to note this pack can hold a Bear Vault 500 lengthwise inside the sleeping bag compartment. It's tight - essentially no space to spare - but it holds it securely and comfortably down there, leaving the whole rest of this massive pack available for your gear. With our Bear Vault fully loaded on the first day of our trip, I had this pack a little over 40 lbs and it was comfortable. It's primarily a cavernous main compartment, but it has lots of adjustment straps to control the load, and plenty of pockets and attachment points to accommodate a much heavier and/or bulkier load than I had. So far, the Volt 75 appears to be as solid as my daughter's Viva 65.
