OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Osprey does a great job with it's packs The pack is great and is able to fit everything I need for week-long trips. It's a bit much if you're aiming for ultra-light, but does offer flexibility for longer or equipment heavy trips. I did experience the same issue with the zippers on the hip-belts, but this is a minor concern. The pack also pressed a little tight against my neck at first but that took some adjusting before the fit was just right. Osprey offers great adjustability and the suspension system on the pack is great. I would recommend this pack to hikers who want the suspension system of an osprey pack without the price of some the of the others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Classic, comfortable pack that does what it was designed to do I like that many extra straps, zippers, pockets, etc were removed during the design process, yet a full suspension system was included. This makes a pack that is comparatively lightweight (I measured exactly 3.75 lbs as stated) to other “bombproof” packs of similar size yet is comfortable from light to heavy loads. The pack remains comfortable until about 40 lbs for me, and then the shoulder strap padding feels thin. I am transitioning from car camping to backpacking, and the pack easily holds my bulkier equipment for a long weekend. The drawbacks I’ve noticed are the hipbelt zippers are difficult to close one handed, and my sleeping bag does not fit entirely within the bottom compartment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit I bought this pack for a 3 day backpacking trip to the Devils path in the Catskills in New York. It was a very physical 25 mile hike. This pack made the trip much easier. If loaded correctly and adjusted properly, it rides really well, even when negotiating tough scrambles and climbing tough spots. The load stays close to your back for good balance. The pack stays tight to your body and doesn't flop around. The small pockets on the waist band were a nice touch, as was the large pocket on the back. The only thing it is missing is maybe a couple more internal pockets to hold smaller items. But for the price and weight, I'll deal with it happily. Just throw your smaller items in a gallon ziploc. I am very happy with this purchase and would buy it again if I needed another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great quality pack and very comfortable. After using this pack for a week long trip I can say it lived up to my expectations and is worth the money. The adjustable length system works well and it is very comfortable. The pack is made very well and is big enough for extended trips. My only complaint would be that the sleeping bag compartment is too small and their should be more straps to suspend it on the outside.,,,,You will not be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality pack at a great price I ordered this from Moosejaw and it arrived quickly with no issues. They had the best price by far. The pack is high quality as you would expect from Osprey. It may not have all the extra pockets and straps, but the price was excellent and this has everything you need. The pack is very adjustable and comfortable. Fits my frame (6'2") very easily. Very happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great pack for a great price This pack is a great pack for the price, and comes with everything you'd need for a pack. The back support adjustment cant get easier, and it ensure a great fit. I'm a bigger framed man and the fit in the fly hip belt is awesome. The color looks great too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price for excellent quality Took this on multiple trips and works great! The pack fits nicely and has multiple ways to adjust it. Recomend getting the osprey rain cover cause it keeps the pack really dry. The pack is light weight and fits everything I need for weekend- 5 day trip.
