OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made and super light weight. Weighing in at just 4.5 ounces for size large - this pack cover is very light. It is constructed out of quality material and comes with a pouch that is attached to the cover itself, allowing you to stuff the cover into its own pouch for storage. ,,,,If you are going to be walking through branches or bushes, you may wish to consider a pack liner (like the Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Pack Liner) instead of this external rain cover. The liner goes on the inside of your pack and consequently it is practically immune to pokes and tears. You may even be able to get away with using a thick trash compactor bag as a liner - though it won't be quite as durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall this is a great pack cover, keeps things dry, but a bit overpriced... The pack cover has worked well both while carrying my pack in the rain and while covering the pack at a campsite overnight. The large size is big enough to cover my Osprey Aether 70 with a therm-a-rest strapped on the back, and has enough extra room to wrap up the (mostly empty) pack at night to save room in your tent or vestibule. ,,,,The cover packs very small and is light weight. It's a tight fit to stuff the cover, but it has held up well through a couple years and several trips. ,,,,If you care about brand this is a good option, but if not, you can get comparable stuff cheaper (you are paying for the Osprey brand name here).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MUST HAVE ITEM! DON'T GET CAUGHT IN THE BACKCOUNTRY WITHOUT IT! I just got an Osprey Aether 70 backpack. On my first trek with my new gear, I experienced heavy spring rain. The rain was mostly welcome, it certainly cooled things down. The contents of my pack was completely dry. Way to go Osprey! ,,,,The rainfly concept is certainly much lighter than a plastic trash bag, and does a better job. The only mistake I made was I purchased a large rainfly. Osprey said that with the Aether 70 I could use either a medium or large rainfly. I elected to go with the large, thinking that too big beat too small. Since I don't have gear tied to the outside, the medium would have been a better choice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ladies and Gentlemen, it's Osprey, did you expect any less? I'm of the belief that Osprey manufactures some of the highest quality packs in the world. I was aghast when I received my Talon 44 and noticed it did not come with a rain cover. This issue needed to be amended. So I got online and put $40 away for this cover. It is a bit expensive. But it is well worth it for keeping my pack and all the goodies within dry. It packs down nice and tight into a small easily stow-able pouch and comes in 4 different sizes. This means you can protect everything for your "biking buddy" Talon 22 to the ends of the earth with your expedition powerhouse Argon 110. A necessity for all Osprey backpackers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Osprey understands packs. It's no surprise that their pack cover exceeds basic pack-cover expectations. First of all, it is light and strong! Very great material, of course, water resistant and packs into its small bag slightly bigger than a big man's fist. nice! Also, I like the draw string pull at the top of the thing that allows you to fit it easily and secure it on any pack. As a bonus, there's also a snap across the middle that keeps it extra secure. And for the price! wow, prob best pack cover out there in my humble opinion...but I did just make a hot-banana sandwich. (banana in hotdog bun with peanut butter...)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Osprey Packs Perfectly I bought this product to protect my Osprey Aether 70 pack when it rains. I have only had to use this a couple of times, but it is well worth it when you get caught in a down poor. ,,,,The Osprey UL Raincover has an attached case so when you need to use it you just take the cover out, pull it over your pack, tighten the draw strings and snap it on. It only takes me about a minute to get this on my pack.,,,,I bought the Large for my 70 liter pack and it fits well and has some room to spare. It is pretty light weight and compact when stored. ,,,,This is a great product from Osprey that will keep your pack dry and safe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A GREAT DEAL! There's really nothing to complain about because I got this raincover free with my purchase of the 28inch Osprey Sojourn wheeled travel backpack! I got the raincover in size large and it is PLENTY big enough to cover my pack! There are little drawstrings to cut the size down, and I think these will be sufficient to keep the cover on my pack, but I haven't had a chance to try it out in the rain yet. I wouldn't say get a pack just to get this raincover, but I would say if you're going to get a pack, get it from moosejaw so you can save 30 dollars on this complementary rain cover and also b/c moosejaw is the best!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gets the job done but has a couple flaws Definitely waterproof, definitely light weight and stuffable stuffs into a little pocket built into the cover. I had to go for a large to cover the aether 85, and it's clear the cover was also made for the crescent 110, there was a LOT of extra material at the bottom. The worst part of the cover, though, is that there's a metal snap that pulls both sides together that ends up riding on the middle of your back with the pack on. I'm afraid I'm going to wear through my jacket/shirt/skin in no time. I hope the cinch cords are enough to keep the cover on during longer treks in the rain. There's no alternative short of the ole trash bags, but in my opinion this cover is not ideal.
