Gender: Mens
Osprey Airscape

Osprey Airscape
Osprey's AirScape™ mesh covered ridge foam backpanels set a new standard in the industry. With its ability to keep the weight close, provide cushion, allow ventilation and add load carry is quite a list of needs from this unassuming backpanel. It successfully accomplished all of that in a way that allows it to be used in the large gear hauling packs and lightweight day hiking packs.

Osprey Peripheral Frame

Osprey Peripheral Frame
Peripheral frame was a departure from the norm many years ago and it’s still the foundation of our gear hauling packs. A wire frame runs along the outside of the backpanel directly connecting the upper load lifters and the central core of the pack to the hipbelt to transition and spread the load. Allowing natural torsional movement, effective adjustable torsos, and different load range and backpanel builds makes this suspension design truly innovative.

Osprey Framesheet

Osprey Framesheet
Whether connected to a peripheral frame on a big load carrier or as a standalone suspension on a day pack, a well-designed framesheet effectively spreads and transitions the loads across the entire body to the harness and hipbelt. With different material and stay options Osprey can make sure each individual pack has the right load carry for its intended use.

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice sweet pack, very comfortable shoulder straps, nice pockets big enough to fit a coupe cliff bars in, pretty small/tight shoulder pockets (i can barely fit an ipod classic in, and it takes some effort to get it out). the stretch pocket is awesome, i usually toss a rain coat and sometimes a light sweater too in there without any problem. its bigger than might be expected. it has some stretch and can hold, thanks in part to the stretch pocket, more than its listed capacity. more than enough space for a regular day hike, even with a full 3 liter bladder. no sweaty back... not yet at least. hipbelt is comfortable... just like the shoulder straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack and Great Custy Service! When I received this pack in the mail one of the straps on the side of the pack was inverted. I thought this was odd so I contacted osprey directly and was informed that this was done on purpose so as to give to user some options as to what to do with the straps. The man over the phone then very pleasantly explained (in detail) how I could remove then re-thread the strap to make it match the other one (which I did). This is now my favorite day pack for several reasons. Mainly, it's super breathable back and it's size are my favorite things about it along with its excellent hip belt. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around pack. Picked this pack up at the Ann Arbor store (thanks guys) about a month ago for a trip to Colorado. There are a lot of extras and adjustment features to fit any user. I used the pack as a carry-on which held a few items like my ski helmet. I then wore it skiing to carry a few items like an extra mid-layer, gloves, and some lunch. I was impressed how the bag stayed in place so well and was thin enough to not cause problems with the lifts or gondola seats. I look forward to using this bag for day hikes and it may replace by camelback for longer mountain bike rides. It will be my go to travel bag for biking and general use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome day-pack I had never heard of Osprey before purchasing the 22 a few years ago. The pack has been my work-horse for day-trips on travels throughout Asia, Europe and South America. Though the sizing wasn't completely a dead-on fit (I'm between S/M and the L, I went with the S/M), the pack came with enough adjustment options to accommodate my frame (5'6, 135 lbs). The hip pockets are particularly noteworthy, and I don't know how I could live without them now. If you're looking for a light-weight, versatile day-pack, this one is hard to beat. I've since purchased three other Osprey bags based on my positive experience with this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best All-Around, Do Everything Daypack If you're looking for just one pack to do Everything you want to do in a day, this is it. The Talon 22 has plenty of room for a day outing, even in winter. It's big enough to hold jackets, food, water, cameras, souvenirs, etc., but stays small and sleek so you don't feel like you're wearing an expedition pack around all day! It's great for dayhikes, festivals, concerts, theme parks, school, or just goofing off around town. If you get a rain cover (Osprey XS), some organizer pouches (Eagle Creek), and an Osprey Hydraform bladder, then this pack can replace ALL other daypacks you have or think you need. It is extremely comfortable and looks great! My go-to daypack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack, nice features I went in to my local Moosejaw ready to purchase the new Osprey / MJ Esteban, but for whatever reason it was made with a sternum strap yet no hip belt. I liked all the other features, but this was a deal breaker. The Talon, however, made my dreams come true. Now, true. the color schemes aren't nearly as fun. The straps are easy to adjust and there is a hip belt. I like the pockets in the belt as well as the ones in the strap - a fun idea and easy access. Overall, the pockets are great without getting complicated. I like the size that can hold plenty but cinch straps that mean I don't have to fill the bag all the way up. I'm not much of a biker, but the lidlock is kind of a fun idea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never Goin' with another brand I have had this pack for almost 3 years now and it is AMAZING. Not for your week long trips but the functionality is great. I have used this pack ranging anywhere from walking to work, the grocery store, going to the gym, pick up basketball, picnics, festivals, day hikes, you name it and it works. Just enough room but not to large like you feel like your hauling a dead body. Adjustable chest straps, hipbelt and across chest strap to sit perfectly on your back. Two water bottle pockets and a rather large back pocket. Accessories make this pack the best, make sure you get your rain cover and your electronics case that can clip anywhere. Love this pack, if mine dies I am buying a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very practical around town or a short trail I love this pack, I use it everyday biking around all over town. it easily supports up to 30lbs is the most I've biked with and it holds the load very comfort bally as Osprey typically does. Definatley a good buy. My only complaint is the side straps by the water bottle holders aren't the most durable straps ive seen on Osprey and one one bike ride the right side strap snapped, although it did not bother me, for i never used it and i actually cut the next one off the next day so i don't get snagged again. every other strap has put up with all the abuse i can put on it.
