I tried on this pack at REI in NYC this spring and fell in love with it. I didn't need it at the time so I decided to wait and order it later. I even took a picture of the tag so I would know exactly which pack to get. The pack arrived and is a really nice pack, as are all Osprey backpacks. I was a little disappointed, however, when I tried on the pack and it was just too big for me in the shoulder area. I ordered the M/L, which is what I tried on in NYC so I don't know what changed. I am a small framed woman at 5'5" and 108 lbs. I still love the pack; just wish it would have fit. No worries though, my husband is also happy with the pack and he has already claimed it. Just to clarify, I also own the Osprey sirrus 24 and it is a M/L and it fits very nicely. Guess I should have stayed with a pack made exclusively for women.
I've had the backpack for about a year now and put it through some rough hiking this summer and it's held up wonderfully! It's big enough to carry lunch for the day and water and even a rain jacket (if you pack well like me). Definitely recommend buying this backpack if you're looking to go out for the day.
Although I just got mine this winter, I have used this backpack before on day hikes all over the Adirondacks. It is super comfy and has ample room for a lunch, water bottles, and cold weather gear just in case.
This pack is everything i was looking for. If I'm going around town my Mac Book Pro fits in it perfect plus a full change of cloths (pants, shirt, socks, and skivvies). I love this thing out on the trails for a day trek it. the only bad thing is it doesn't come with the Hydration system, you have to buy that separately, but all in all worth every penny.
Great day pack for short quick outings or long trail runs ( I have used for both). Plenty of space for water couple of layers and some chow. Only thing hip pockets don' work super well zippers hard to use.
