OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Multi-use Pack Got this a few weeks back to replace my older Raptor 14 because the pocket configuration is a better setup and I like having the zipper hip pockets better than just stash pockets. Climbed Matterhorn Peak (13er in Colorado) with it and it was super comfortable. Carried a light puff jacket in middle pocket and a light wind jacket in outer stretch pocket with the full 3 liter Osprey reservoir (which distributed the water weight nicely) and had plenty room for more essentials if needed. The only downside I found was the chest strap is on the tighter side. With a little re-positioning I made it work but just wish it had a longer strap (the excess could've been cut off).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought this about a month ago, and have not been disappointed, I use it twice daily to attend class since I ride my bike, and it is sleek yet doesn't weigh me down, can fit all my soft cover books with ease. When I have taken it down the trails in Durango Colorado I have noticed that it fits extremely well with the adjustable straps. To refill is the best part, the zipper slides with ease making it extremely easy to pull out and fill while on the go without the hassle of other products. I'd recommend this to anyone that loves a quality product while riding! Ranging from experienced to just trying to get to class

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pack! I love this pack more than a fat kid who loves cake! It's extremely comfortable and built better than a brick house. Not too big and not too small. The pack hugs you like your grandmother used to and does not bounce around on your back at all while biking down a gnarly line. Perfect to hit the trails all day and have plenty of water with the 3L bladder. The bladder also does not balloon up and feel like a huge Jimmy Dean sausage is stuffed in your pack like some of the others out there. I'm sure I'll have this pack for years to come, gotta love the confidence of Ospreys warranty. Pick one up ASAP!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best backpack, ever. Got this for my boyfriend for his birthday and now I'm seriously considering buying one for myself. Basically, the team at Osprey are a bunch of geniuses. Osprey>Camelbak. Such a well thought out design--from the helmet clip on the back, to the plastic piece that holds the bladder stiff inside the backpack, to the hip pouch with perfect room for a cell phone/chapstick/etc. Osprey thought of EVERYTHING. Definitely impressed with this backpack. Good for hiking, biking, or trail running.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pack for Mountain Biking!!! I typically ride 2 or 3 days a week on all kinds of terrain, the more gnarly the better for me. I absolutely love this pack! The wide waist belt keeps it in place so it doesn't shift around on you during the steep, technical descents and the water bladder with rigid panel doesn't collapse inside the bag. The waist pockets are great for a map or sunscreen and it is very comfortable for long rides. I find this to be the best mountain biking pack I have ever used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from stoked! Ordered this pack a couple days ago and can't wait for it to arrive. Did some research on the raptor 14 and couldn't find any negative reviews online. Have another osprey pack (stratos 24) that I really like for hiking, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to feel the same about this one for mt biking. Moosejaw always has good prices and great deals. Highly recommend for gear junkies like myself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from osprey raptor 1 review bought this about a month ago. very solid hydration pack. lots of features--it has so many pockets that the first time i used it i couldn't find everything. seems like it will last for many years. it's a little heavier than my old camelback mule (but also holds a lot more) so be aware it's not a lightweight product. however, it's very comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice medium hydro pack Build quality is great! Full zip hydro sleeve, easier, less spills to pull it out and fill. Like the organization webbing. Pocket at the top is large enough for my Note 4 with it's case/clip. Shovel pocket is sweet, holds jacket with less worry about it snagging and pulling off than bungees on my last H.A.W.G. (lost a really nice NF shell that way) Neg's, the belt pockets are very small, on a big by like me they don't wrap around my sides at all. So they are still kind of on my back and I can only use by feel as they are out of site. Tool roll up is awesome, a little too small, if you stuff all your tools in it than it's hard to get pack in the allotted space. Had to reduce what I carried a little. Move to inside. Use belt pocket for multi tool halves so I don't have to unroll just to tighten a bolt, etc. And helps with roll up space! Helmet lock is nice design. Whole pack cinches up really well and I don't notice it riding. Not the best running pack because the straps are small/thin.
