The Osprey Quasar Pack is the answer to a daypack for an active lifestyle. It is not, however, the answer to why my peanut butter and jelly sandwich just tasted like carrots. Still trying to figure that one out. This bag features many of the features that make other Osprey bags so awesome, like the Airscape back panel for support and ventilation and a spacer mesh harness. It also features places for your daily gear, like an elastic laptop sleeve with a padded base, an MP3 pocket and a stash pocket with a mini organizer. If you need a backpack for the trail and for campus, this pack doesn't make you choose between the two.

OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST BAG FOR THE BUCK Have had my Quasar pack now for a few years and it is by far my favorite pack. Spacious, comfortable and reliable. Especially for the urban traveler with survival in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pack! I use this pack as an Every Day Carry. I love it for that purpose. The internal laptop sleeve has an attached "paper sleeve" that I love for organization. The handle on the top is sturdy and useful. As always with Osprey, construction is TOP notch. The front pocket has plenty of organization from some mesh pockets to pen holders and zippered storage as well. The pack works great as a carry-on as well. I have traveled often with it and love it. I can PACK this thing full. Overall, nearly a perfect school/EDC/travel bag. BUT there's only one issue I have with the bag and that's that it's advertised as a "trail" pack as well as "urban". Being an avid packer, I had to test it out on a week long series of day hikes. I found it to be really lacking in the trail category. It has a lot of space, but the back/shoulder support is not great - not bad, but not great. The biggest issue I have is with the waist support. As most daypacks (including my kestrel 32) have really sturdy waist support, I had a lot of problems getting the weight of this pack to rest on my hips with the flimsy, removable waist cord. But, I doubt most are buying this pack for that reason anyways, so I don't think it's worth docking a star over. For it's purposes - as a member of the "24/7" series, this bag goes above and beyond. I love it and would recommend it to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best do-it-all backpack ever made. Seriously. college. weekend trips. biking. buy it! Honestly, I've been waiting about a month for this pack to come out and i couldn't be more impressed. I looked at other packs (Patagonia Crosstown, GoLite TravelPack, and let's face it everyone has a North Face blah) Osprey nailed this pack for someone who wants a simple, rugged, sweet looking pack that can do everything. Literally. Save for extended backpacking trips or skydiving. Oh yea...did I mention how SWEET this pack looks in person. I got ink black and it has the usual Osprey swagger to it. It's a pack I forsee many adventures with through college and beyond. ,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and Durable I purchased the Real Red Osprey Quasar pack. The deep red color is a nice change from those often too bright colors we are seeing right now. I love the weightlessness of the pack. Even though the pack is lightweight that doesn't trade down for its durability. The durability is better than expected. The pack is made well and made to last. Just enough pockets and areas for me to keep my OCDself organized and in control of where items go. My favorite part is the padded area for my laptop. My 15" Macbook Pro fits perfectly in the laptop sleeve in the pack.I feel secure carrying it around and have no worries while setting it down. Osprey thanks for the great product! Mossejaw as always thanks for selling the great product at a better deal!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from its a pack I was looking for a pack that i can use for school and the same day take it out on a day hike. I can do that but for a long day hike it isn't the most comfortable. It holds a lot of stuff and compresses great for the style pack. the reason for a 3 out of 5 was the "hip belt" is't really anything, kind of helps but not really. Also the shoulder straps weren't great and i am surprised from osprey because i own the talon and argon and they are great. but for a school and day hike pack it is great for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daily Commuter Pack I needed a replacement for my 10 year old Swiss Gear laptop backpack, and I got this one for Christmas. I travel for work, and I can fit two nights worth of clothing into this pack along with my business necessities. During a normal work day, I can fit a lunch pack, a change of clothes, and a jacket strapped on the outside. Very well made and functional. I have gotten multiple compliments on it while traveling. Highly recommend this pack to anybody looking for a new commuter pack or a weekend travel pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing pack This pack is great for school or for hiking. It fits plenty of gear and has a laptop pocket for class. It fit my 13" laptop with a sleeve well. The foam for the laptop compartment isn't too thick, so it may be best to have an extra layer of protection. The bag itself, seems incredibly sturdy and I haven't had much problems with the contents getting wet in mild rain. The draw strings on the outside easily allow for a bicycle helmet or a sleeping pad to be strapped to it. Overall, I'm very pleased with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best backpack ever i wanted something different than the normal northface that everyone has. lets just say i am very happy with my decision. looks great, functions even better than it looks, and is just an all around cool and different pack. i currently use it for school, trips, and mountain biking. does everything i need it to do and more. could not be any happier with my choice. this is a must buy. if you are thinking about buying it, you should have done it by now. great pack 5 stars.
