The Osprey Quasar Pack is the answer to a daypack for an active lifestyle. It is not, however, the answer to why my peanut butter and jelly sandwich just tasted like carrots. Still trying to figure that one out. This bag features many of the features that make other Osprey bags so awesome, like the Airscape back panel for support and ventilation and a spacer mesh harness. It also features places for your daily gear, like an elastic laptop sleeve with a padded base, an MP3 pocket and a stash pocket with a mini organizer. If you need a backpack for the trail and for campus, this pack doesn't make you choose between the two.

"Amazing pack" 01/16/11
This pack is great for school or for hiking. It fits plenty of gear and has a laptop pocket for class. It fit my 13" laptop with a sleeve well. The foam for the laptop compartment isn't too thick, so it may be best to have an extra layer of protection. The bag itself, seems incredibly sturdy and I haven't had much problems with the contents getting wet in mild rain. The draw strings on the outside easily allow for a bicycle helmet or a sleeping pad to be strapped to it. Overall, I'm very pleased with this.
"its a pack" 10/17/10
I was looking for a pack that i can use for school and the same day take it out on a day hike. I can do that but for a long day hike it isn't the most comfortable. It holds a lot of stuff and compresses great for the style pack. the reason for a 3 out of 5 was the "hip belt" is't really anything, kind of helps but not really. Also the shoulder straps weren't great and i am surprised from osprey because i own the talon and argon and they are great. but for a school and day hike pack it is great for the price.
"Best backpack ever" 09/13/10
i wanted something different than the normal northface that everyone has. lets just say i am very happy with my decision. looks great, functions even better than it looks, and is just an all around cool and different pack. i currently use it for school, trips, and mountain biking. does everything i need it to do and more. could not be any happier with my choice. this is a must buy. if you are thinking about buying it, you should have done it by now. great pack 5 stars.
"The best do-it-all backpack ever made. Seriously. college. weekend trips. biking. buy it!" 08/16/10
Honestly, I've been waiting about a month for this pack to come out and i couldn't be more impressed. I looked at other packs (Patagonia Crosstown, GoLite TravelPack, and let's face it everyone has a North Face blah) Osprey nailed this pack for someone who wants a simple, rugged, sweet looking pack that can do everything. Literally. Save for extended backpacking trips or skydiving. Oh yea...did I mention how SWEET this pack looks in person. I got ink black and it has the usual Osprey swagger to it. It's a pack I forsee many adventures with through college and beyond.
