The Osprey Quantum Pack is a daypack that makes me wonder if Osprey has some sort of pocket engineer sitting around thinking of awesome and functional pockets to add to their packs. Maybe engineer isn't the right word. Pocket Jedi Master might be more appropriate. This backpack features a laptop pocket, an internal document sleeve, an MP3 pocket, a front pocket with a mini-organizer, a front stretch mesh pocket, and plenty of extra room in the bag to spare. Everything has a spot without having excessive pockets: it's a flawless balance of pockets that only the most advanced Pocket Jedi Master could create but is for everyone to appreciate. Ideal for trekking across campus or for a quick overnight or daytrip, this bag is always ready to go and looks great carrying anything. And don't worry about being delicate with your daypack: use it and abuse it without worries thanks to it's durable ripstop nylon construction.

I originally bought the green version of this bag to use as a carry on for short trips home to visit my folks. It works wonderfully for that and will fit under the seat of even the tiniest "local" jets. On a recent trip to Europe, my husband used the same bag as his every day backpack and loved it so much that he won't give it back now. So, I ordered a 2nd one. It's comfortable, holds a ton of stuff, and expands or flattens to your needs. We have a bunch of Osprey bags of different sizes and configurations, and you just can't go wrong with this one!
LOTS OF ZIP UP POCKETS. its not 100% perfect for lots of books, but i use it for my lap top and quite a few note books and binders. it also works very well for light travel packing, and even hiking if needed.
I use this pack everyday. I take my lap top and iPad to work, and I also use it on every adventure. I primarily use it to carry my camera and GoPro equipment. Has great pockets for all of my accessories. The only thing I'm not crazy about are the colors.
I've had this pack for a bit now and i use it all the time. It's perfect for a day trip out on the trail, a weekend trip out of town, or to class. The red color is my favorite and their is a pocket for anything that you need! The only downfall is that I didn't realize there were different sizes when I bought it, so it's a tad bit big on me. Other than that, it's great!!! Hope you enjoy it as well.
I've had this pack for a day, and I already in love. The pockets are perfect. The document sleeve is perfect for fitting an iPad. I bought this the house all of my various technology for adventure trips. I can fit my laptop, iPad, GoPro, all wires and accessories, and plenty of extra room for clothes. Everything has it's own place, and it's easy to locate smaller items.
"Well made and spacious pack........not to mention good looking!"
Did a bit of researching for a while trying to find a good daypack for all around use. Heard good things about Osprey and liked the features the Quantum had to offer. Very pleased with this pack. Its amazing how much you can fit into it even though its not an overly large pack. Very nice organizational compartments. Use this as daily work bag to transport laptop, weekend trips, camping/hiking, etc... It does it all. I was between the Quantum and Comet and am very happy I decided to go with the larger in the Quantum. Would highly recommend if you are in the market for a nice daypack.....and nice to have the extra 6L over the Comet.
"One of the best school backpacks out there"
I've had this backpack for about two years and it's done everything I've needed and more. It easily carries anything you need for school and then some. It's got great a lot of capacity and it's incredibly well-designed. And should it get damaged, Osprey has its All Mighty Guarantee to fix it. How can you go wrong?
This is an excellent pack. The laptop and document compartments make it a perfect commuter/school pack, and the hip belt/spacious interior allow it to be used as a day pack or even a summer overnight pack. I was looking for the ideal hybrid pack, as I am a student and hiker. This was the perfect solution. The stretchy water bottle pouches CAN hold a nalgene, which is a big plus. 34 liters is great for me, since i carry textbooks, but the comet might work well for those of you who want a smaller bag to tote.
"A great alternative to those dumb Under Armour backpacks"
I use this pack for school mostly. I take pride in the fact that I have a relatively obscure backpack, mainly because I could easily identify it if it were ever stolen or lost, but also because I like to be special. it comfortably fits all of my books along with a light jacket, and that is no simple task as I am taking four AP (college-credit worthy) classes. This backpack is durable too; I have used it both for school and trips for about two years now, and the only sign of wear is from that one time when I accidentally cut it with a throwing knive.....Anyway, this backback can carry lots of stuff and take a serious beating while still looking cool.
I bought this backpack for use on my college Campus and it works perfect! When purchasing the pack the colors are way off so keep that in mind. The backpack is extremely comfortable and sits close to your back if you have the side straps tightened. The laptop sleeve fits my 15 inch laptop, and the smaller sleeve fits a tablet perfectly. There is a mesh pocket on the inside that is extremely useful and the exterior is like that of other Osprey backpacks, which is extremely useful to just throw something in to. My only complaint is that when the top pockets have lots of stuff in them it creates a lump on top causing the bottom part to sag. However, another great product from Osprey!
This is a good backpack and it works well for school or day hikes. I like the style of this backpack. The straps are very comfortable also. The only complaint I have is that the colors displayed on this website are a bit deceiving. I ordered the ice blue color and it is not the blue shown here. It is more of a turquoise or teal color that is a lighter shade than what you see on this page. The color is fine, but it would have been nice to have the color in the picture. Overall it functions well and I am happy with the backpack. The laptop pocket protects the computer well because it doesn't reach the bottom of the bag, so your computer won't touch the ground when you set it down.
