OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Uncomfortable Hip Belt!!! I loved the previous model (2015) but this new model is really frustrating! The belt DIGS INTO YOUR HIPS and is so uncomfortable when hiking. I don't know who suggested it or why it was suggested to change the design of the belt. The previous design was so comfortable and is why I loved the 2015 model. The 2016 design is great other than the stiff hip belt. PLEASE go back to the 2015 belt. For this reason I am returning the 2016 model. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pack for our family! This is the pack I reach for when I take my kids on day hikes. I can carry my 18 lb 16 mo old with ease, and I can also quickly adjust to my 38 lb 4 yr old if I need to! I have owned several other baby packs, and hated every one. This carries all the weight on my hips, taking the stress off my shoulders. I love how it hugs me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice pack but painful We bought this to be able to bring our 8 month old along on hikes and backpacking trips. It is a great pack but the hip belt is stiff and digs in the hips. I bought 2015 and 2016 models and i do like 2015 hip belt better. came on site to see if next years model was available to see if the hip belt changed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our POCO AG Premium We didn't get to try the carrier before purchasing and were relying on the descriptions to be accurate in order to make our choice. The carrier delivered on everything that Osprey advertised and more. We couldn't be happier.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have for hiking with the little one Another great osprey product. As soon as I put the AG Poco on I knew this is the bag I wanted. The new AG back is nothing like any backpack I have tried. It hugs your back and the way it sits on your waist makes the weight seem alot lighter. Yes the waist belt is a little bulky but it makes up for it by being comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid design but uncomfortable Read through many reviews before getting this pack. Purchased a Deuter as well with the idea of returning one. Husband prefers this pack. It stays closer to the body and child seems very stable in it. Have a 23lb child to carry. Very solid build and well made. The waste support is super stiff. It also lacks in any real padding around the waist. Sits uncomfortably at the top of my hip bone. I'm sore for a day or two after in that location. I personally put a padding in between the waist area as it was also painful on lower back area. Again no real padding. The Deuter had more padding but is less stable and child seemed to be able to lean easier off to the side making it more challenging. The Deuter also had more weight of the pack distributed through the shoulder area. The Osprey does not have that issue. I do find it annoying that there is not an easy way access to a water bottle. I don't always use a bladder for a short hike and would prefer to not have to tweak my wrist to try and get a bottle around the side pocket. It also tends to fall out when kickstand is completely in. This pack is really made for someone with a longer torso. I set it to XS and it still seems too long. Really like the built in sun shade and feet stirrup. Like that it collapses down well when not in use. My child really likes it and has fallen asleep in it. I hiked a lot with a previous pack that I sold with a different child and don't recall any disappointment so I was surprised to have some with this one. Have adjusted it multiple times to sit higher or lower on my hip and it works better higher. Can't seem to use my legs well when it's lower as it is so stiff at the waste and applies pressure uncomfortably to this area . I'm an average build female and pretty active. This pack would not be good for someone overweight. My husband really likes the pack and has no issues with it. We will both be using it quite a bit.
