"If you find a better daypack, propose to it." 09/29/11
I'm an avid cyclist (road racing + hipster city fixed gear riding), so this pack appealed from a commuting/gear lugging perspective - that "Lidlock" helmet holder thingamajig is unbelievable. When it arrived, it had pretty tremendous capacity, so I decided it would accompany me on a Europe trip. Though my wife would not relinquish her airplane seat for my pack, it fit in the overhead and under the seat in front of me on two different size planes. It was a large enough carry-on for a few days of clothes and accessories as we tripped between cities in the EU, and it even expands an additional couple inches that I didn’t even use. I snapped a picture of it holding its own in the Munich airport.
"Everything the Osprey said about this pack is totally true." 06/20/11
So I am not a large person (5' 8'') and was worried that the 34 would be too large, so I ordered the S/M of it. Thankfully it was not; I would even consider getting the M/L if I had to choose again. Either way this pack is great for biking around and it can still hold a ton of stuff. All the options pointed out on the Osprey website are here and the only thing I have against it is that there is sometimes a lot of straps flying around and coming up with a way to clamp those loose straps down would be nice. I love this thing nonetheless.
"This is a back pack I use for my daily commute to work and back." 05/11/11
I use this pack everyday to carry the essentials, laptop, tablet pc, phone chargers, and still room left for clothes. There are a few compartments, some with elastic on the inside so there is ample storage for small items. Backpack is comfortable to wear for extended periods, I have done a day hike with it, and performed great (the backpack worked good too). My only complaint is the color. The pic looks black, but it is silver and grey in this dimension, but at least it isn't snot color bamboo. I make the silver and grey look good so I kept it. It is a lot lighter in color than the picture, so it shows dirt more, but nothing a little cleaning can't fix.
