OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like they are fixing my bag!!! I received this bag years ago as a gift from my parents. I was going to Russia for an extended stay, 45 days. The bag held up great on that trip and many later trips. The bottom plastic where the wheels are located broke and I just looked up the product to see if I could send it someplace to get it repaired as I'm planning a trip to Spain and Portugal. I never thought that there was a lifetime guarantee on the the bag! I just filled out the paperwork and they say they will repair it! This is a great product! The bag still looks great except for the broken bottom. All else works fine. All the zippers still work after stuffing it to the max!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome convertible bag! Just got back from traveling in Asia with this bag. Mostly stayed in places where I could wheely my bag around, but a few places we had to hike a ways across the beach or up rocky stairs to get to, so the backpack conversion was key. It worked really well in both forms. I used the removable backpack a lot - it's been redesigned since an older (2008) version of this bag that I had, and is now really useful with lots of pockets and easy access. The whole bag is durable and really well made, plus has Ospreys amazing lifetime warranty. I've never had to use the warranty though...never had any issues with their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you travel- THIS is the bag for you! I have traveled extensively over the years and always struggled with the perfect baggage. Do I take my backpack, giant suitcase, try to squeeze everything into a carry on, etc. etc. etc.? Then I found this bag. From going to Europe, Asia, South America, East Africa, and my Granny's- this is forever the bag I will take. You can't beat Osprey's quality of bag- especially with durability and organization. I love that I no longer am the awkward traveler shuffling mismatched bags to and fro (not to be confused with the fro that my hair sometimes turns into after a long day of travel)-I am able to get this bag through security, fit everything I need, and look good in the process. Cheers Osprey!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality pack I dragged this pack around Europe with me over all types of terrain, rain or shine, and I was not gentle. It withstood a lot lot of abuse and made the entire journey easier. The slight extra weight of the bag or the slightly less carry-friendly design are worth it for the wheels. They're big enough to go over cobble stones and gravel and didn't give out pulling the bag down the stairs. The removable pack was great for carrying around valuables - I was able to tuck away all the zippers very nicely. After about 20 weeks of travel the only damage was dirt and a little friction burn hole on the removable bag when I decided to strap it in and go without a carry-on during a flight. If I wanted to I'm sure I could have it repaired or replaced under the lifetime guarantee. This pack is worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing and Easy for Travelling the Worlf I got this bag as a Christmas Gift. My dad and I did a lot of research and this come out on top. I have travel to Asia and the States with it, and my mum and dad used it to go to OZ. Each time it was easy to use. The day pack was great as my carry-on and the backpack on the main case was great as extra storage. It was also great to have the option that if i need to use it as a pack i could. The size was perfect and it fitted everything in that i needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great travel bag Great bag. Fits in carry on part of plane if you take the attachable back pack off. A little heavier than other back packs because of the extra weight from the wheels, but makes a huge difference to have the option for wheeling it. Take the time to adjust it properly for your body to keep the weight in your hips. Not a ton of zippers in the attachable backpack, but is otherwise great purchase. The company also has a life time warranty.

1) Is it possible to lock the day pack to the main piece of luggage? 2) Are the top corners near the back plane reinforced with plastic or extra padding?

Asked by: Boot Scootin
Thanks for the questions! While there isn't something incorporated into the item to lock the day pack to the luggage, you could use a luggage lock to loop through the zippers on the day pack and link them to a zipper on the main piece of luggage. The top corners of the main piece of luggage are very sturdily reinforced.
