The Osprey Men's Waypoint 65 Travel Pack is a pack that is as durable and comfortable as a backcountry backpack, but with the functionality and compactness that make it ideal for travel. Interchangable harnesses help customize how you bear the weight of the bag, and the built-in hipbelt helps, too. Featuring inside pockets to keep your toiletries away from your underwear and your headlamp separate from your socks, this bag is made to transition from trail to travel without a problem. The detachable daypack is handy for shorter trips. My Snapple cap just told me that tigers love to swim.

OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent backpack to... backpack! I bought this backpack for my first backpack experience to Egypt and Jordan, then India, Perdu and France after. The detachable little backpack that you can bring on the plane or on trips when you can leave the big at the hotel : priceless. The zipper on the site of the big bag that allows you to reach for everything faster : even more priceless. And if you compare it to cheaper travel bags, there is a big difference on being compact and durable. And the materials are so thought that my backpack as not thorn anywhere yet! Only thing that I would like to improve : the straps in the front that are flying everywhere for no reason!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect pack for backpacking Europe. I got this pack at the new store in KC. The backpack guy talked me out of buying the standard backpack after hearing what i was going to use it for...,,This is the best travel pack ever. If you want something to hike up a mountain for 3 weeks then this is not it (osprey has better packs for that). if, however, you want a pack for travel and carry your stuff on your back instead of dragging it around like a heathen than this IS it,,Its very comfortable with a heavy load and you can fit a TON of stuff in it. instead of top-loading like every other pack, the zipper goes around the outside so you can get to all your stuff - including the stuff at the bottom - without upsetting the apple cart,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems Like a Great Pack I bought this for a four-month world trip, and it seems perfect for what I needed! The straps tuck away into the bag (perfect for checking on an airplane), and the removable daypack is awesome. I especially like that the daypack zips on the back (against your back) so that if you're wearing it in a crowded place, it would be difficult for somebody to get into it without you taking it off. This pack is made very well and is also comfortable. I bought the 85 L for myself (I'm 6'4"), and we bought the 65 L for my wife (5'5"). She preferred the men's fit to the women's fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too cool for wheels. Picked up this bag for an upcoming trip around Europe. If you are like me and prefer a pack to wheeled suitcases this is definitely for you. I shopped several brands and styles of travel packs before deciding on this one. (An excellent decision.) The buckles on my last pack were destroyed by the airport luggage thugs, and being able to hide the straps inside this pack makes all the difference. Another huge plus is the day pack. It is rear-loading so as long as you don't keep any valuables in the few smaller front pockets the thing should be gypsy-proof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rugged, Functional, Quality I recently purchased this bag for my trip to Europe. Zipped off the daypack and walked on the plane with my carry on (main bag) and personal item (day pack). Saved hundreds of dollars NOT checking luggage! Great for hopping on and off trains, planes and boats! Tons of room and super comfortable. This pack is worth every penny and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality pack that will last them a lifetime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack to Store Tons of Stuff!! I got this pack for an upcoming trip, and it's great! It doesn't seem too big, but you can pack so much stuff in here! It's a black hole eating up all of your clothes, then room for your kitchen sink as well. The detachable daypack is nice for the day, if you are going on a hike and don't want to lug around the entire pack. Totally worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an amazing travel pack! Just came back from a trip to Norway and I will be using this pack for all my travel in the future! It looks great and fits even better. This bag also seems to be water resistant. I was out in the rain with it several times and the water was beading off of it. Too many good things about this pack to list them all, but is an amazing product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for urban/outdoor crossover I bought this here unit with the intention of using it for both urban backpacking and woodland hiking/camping, with a fair amount of travel in between. Since, I've done both, and it has exceeded my expectations so far. ,,,,The concealable – and supportive – shoulder harness makes this easy to convert from airport luggage to a combination turtle shell-camel hump (hopefully you get that analogy.) The detachable day-pack makes it simple to leave the non-essentials back at base camp while you travel light on short-distance excursions. Lastly, the large panel zip access makes packing clothes much more convenient that the top-loading models; I have to imagine it also keeps clothes from wrinkling as much (if you're concerned about that sort of thing.),,,,Bottom line: if you're seeking an extremely versatile rig to cover the broad spectrum of travel possibilities, I highly recommend going with this guy.,,,,P.S. I haven't had occasion to test the dual ice tool loops – something to aspire to.
