The Atmos 35 by Osprey will get you through most overnighters and will help you ace your next 24-hour adventure race. The all-new Atmos Series addresses the ultralight revolution as only Osprey could - with a suspension that really carries weight, and fabrics and materials that will realistically stand up to the rigors of use. The AirSpeed suspension sets the Atmos Series above all other ultralight packs. The Atmos frame is 6005-T6 alloy aluminum with two 6" x 5mm fiberglass struts providing flex in the middle. Unlike other mesh tensioned backpanels that are simply flat panels suspended from 4 tensioned corners of an X-frame, this panel is 3D contoured. Additionally, there is a lumbar contour at the bottom and the backpanel follows a back curvature. All contact surfaces are either breathable mesh or perforated, molded waffle foam. The backpanel supports the load well because it is under drum-like tension. When wearing the pack, rather than compressing the load with comp straps at the hips, the back sinks evenly into the lumbar area providing comfortable uniform pressure with no hot spots. With durable 210D fabrics and a weight range of 1 lb., 15 oz to 2 lb., 13 oz. these packs are both light and strong. Two quick release web straps at the top end of the inside of the backpanel provide attachment for your hydration bladder. These straps slide on the aluminum tubing at the top and can be positioned on center or two hole connection points. A central exit for the hydration tube allows routing to either the right or left shoulder strap. The hipbelt and shoulder pads are a waffle molded EVA with perforations. This allows for minimal surface contact and superb ventilation. The hipbelt has a mesh zippered pocket on each side for quick access to energy gel and the like. On the front of the pack, you'll find stretch woven lycra front and side pockets and welded water resistant zippers. FEATURES of the Atmos 35 Backpack by Osprey

"Comfortable pack with quality design" |
01/03/10 |
| After purchasing this pack, I immediately took it out for a hike in a snow storm. All of my gear stayed dry throughout the entirety of the hike. Stash pockets are strategically placed for convenience, while the main compartment offers enough space to provide adequate storage for all the essentials. With the exterior clips on the outside bottom, a two man tent can easily be attached, allowing room for sleeping pad, sleeping bag and extra clothes inside the pack. When the hip belt, chest strap and compression straps are pulled fast, there is little to no shift of the pack from side to side. A solid pack for day hikes, overnights and long term for minimalists as well. Enjoy! | |

"Great Daypack" |

| It doesn't have enough room for a sleeping bag or other overnight essentials, so for the casual user, this is a dayhike-only pack. the AirSpeed suspension is awesome. You'll find that the mesh back panel and ergonomic suspension will treat your back to a pleasant experience. This is the second Osprey pack that I bought, and they have once again done a great job. Caveat: Make sure you zip the internal zippers, or else your small gear from the outside pocket will drop into the main compartment. | |
