"Great overall weekend pack" 02/23/10
has plenty of space, internal support, pockets, security, and sturdiness to get the job done. Especially good for casual few-days hiking trips. I'd definitely recommend this pack to anyone and everyone.
"Exceeded my expectations for the price" 12/16/09
Recently used this pack hunting in Wyoming. It had plenty of space to haul a days worth of gear for conditions that ranged from 70 to snow along with the gear for two other guys who had to pack out their deer. I was pretty comfy hauling it around for a week straight with loads from 25 to 60+ pounds.notes-slim profile makes it easy(ier) to sneak through brush-the internal hydration bladder pocket easily holds a 3-lbladder-it carries pretty well even when overloaded-the side pockets can hold a water bottle, but you'll never reach it without taking the pack off unless you are a contortionist
"Considering the price, carrying weight, it's comfortable at 40 + lbs" 12/14/09
If you pack it nicely according to packpacker standards, it will ride nicely. The whistle is lacking cannot be heard from 20+ feet away. The vertical suspension bars were solid and carried load nicely when overloaded. But it put a little pressure on base of spine, be sure to size correctly. It could use a little more lumbar support. I'm sure if I had gone and get my hipbelt molded it may have been better. No pockets on hip belt. The water bottle reach was annoying at best. All tbese aside, It got me through some rough hiking.
"Just a totally well made, comfortable, and durable backpack." 08/12/09
I have used the Aether 60 for 3 years now even thought I seemed to have been measured incorrectly. The pack was still comfortable. Since recently purchasing the medium, I wouldn't part with it or even entertain looking at another manufacturer right now. Yes, it's a great pack and like telling folks....if they ask! LOL I will use it on my 2010 Thru of the AT and have total confidence it will take a beating and still be very comfortable.Survivor Dave
"Exactly What I Needed" 04/13/09
It took me a long time to find this pack, and it's exactly what I wanted. I've used this when hiking in the Rockies, Yosemite and a week-long ice climbing trip. I was able to fit a lot of stuff into it after I decided it was sturdy enough to handle stomping on the contents to pack them in tight. The main feature I look for in a smaller pack (like this one - all of my other packs are for long-term mountaineering trips) is a rigid frame in the back. Without that, the pack is limp and rests on one's shoulders. This has the same features I expect in a large mountaineering pack (like the very comfortable hip belt) in a smaller form.I love it.
"Great pack at a great price" 05/19/08
I have used the pack three times so far. I have had the pack loaded with about 35lbs. The pack fits great and is very adjustable to allow it to fit different body types. I really like the hydration bladder pocket and exit hole. It is nice not having to run the tube out the top opening of the pack. I looked at several other packs and the Osprey had the best fit and features of all the packs and was lower in price. My only complaint is the shoulder straps could be a little more comfy.
"Roomy, light, wel built" 02/17/08
A nice roomy pack that I bought for a pack-in trip with a bunch of scouts. Turned out that the gear that I carried only filled the pack about 3/4 of the way. The pack sits very well on the hips, and I barely felt the load over the 3 miles into and out of the camp. I'll be using this some more.
"Good Buy" 12/30/07
This is a great pack from Osprey that is not only durable and decent in size but comfortable as well. For the money you pay you get a great value of a pack. The only thing I would change about it is the accessibility to the main compartment, there is only one entrance. Additionally, it would be nice to have a few more pockets. Aside from the negative, it is still a good pack that I would recommend.
"Uber-comfortable and sexy!" 11/02/07
Lightweight for its size. I usually load it with less than 35lbs worth of gear, but I've had around 45lbs in it without an issue. The suspension system and hip belt work very well together. I was afraid that I was going to damage the stretch pockets by over stuffing them, but It hasn't been an issue. It looks good on me too. Straight Jacket system works well too.
