"topo maps can take a beating in the backcountry, so use the wrap 4 access & protection" 06/13/10
sometimes using water repellent spray to seal maps has 2 suffice when laminating 30 topo maps just isn't in the program budget.this map wrap is awesome b/c it attached to your pack for all-day accessibility, it zip seals shut & has a clear rubber front for easy visibility if you fold your map in a manner that meets the needs for each day of travel.nice to have b/c it can be frustrating when you can't quite pinpoint your location due to some of the contour lines have been worn away and/or smudged by condensation (water repellent is not waterproof) right where you need those lines to verify navigation.
"Don't waste the money" 03/30/10
This thing is just ok; it is nice and keeps the elements off your map but there is no real place to attach this thing so that you have easy access to it while on the trail. In theory this was a good idea, but it just isn't convenient to get to if attached to the straps on the side or back. The size is good when unfolded you can have a good portion of your map visible but I would say don't waste the money, just get yourself a zip lock and a cargo pocket.
