Product Description Item No.   10210098

The Osprey Manta 28 Pack is a do-it-all hydration pack that won't say no to a hike, bike ride, or music festival. The 28 liter version is the in-between size, that can go on extended hikes or rides, but isn't quite ready for an ultralight overnighter. Included with the Manta is a 3L Hydraulics™ reservoir and integrated raincover, two items that are best when not left at home. You can hydrate hands-free with the direct zip access sleeve and protect gear from getting soaked by deploying the raincover from the bottom zipper. The large panel load section secures your bigger gear items while the stretch mesh and zippered pockets hold onto smaller items throughout the pack. The dual compression straps on both sides make it easy to take this mid-sized pack on a shorter hike when not bringing along tons of gear.

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pack that has a minor flaw I bought this pack a couple weeks ago and have had a chance to take it on a couple of day hikes. It has performed very well, staying on my back solidly without slipping. Two minor complaints: the hydration pack is inferior to Camelbak in the sense that it is hard to clean and the hose doesn't detach with a quick link; and the inside is a bit smaller than it looks because of the curve of the frame and an odd "bump" in the back that takes up some space. These are really minor complaints because the pack is super comfortable and is my go-to pack now. I would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The go-everywhere, do-everything pack Scored this bag on some points and am glad I did. This pack has handled everything I've thrown at it, except rain that is, and quickly became my go-to. I use it for commuting to work, day-hiking, long range road biking and going to class. It easily swallows my 13" laptop along with notebooks and textbooks and asks for more. What I really love about the bag is the small top outer zipper pocket, which I use to hold glasses/sunglasses on my commute and enough snacks and maps for the trail. What tops that? The dual zipper pockets on the front of the bag. They are separated, which makes them functional. I use one side for a rain jacket and the other for dirty clothes during summer hikes. Awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great day pack or everyday use pack! This pack is great for the day trip up the mountain trails. It has plenty of room for everything that is needed. The hydro pack is a plus, so now not as many stops for water breaks are needed. The pack has plenty of straps to keep everything secured. The built in rain cover is also a plus. The carrying straps are nicely padded and the back ventilated great. The pack sits and carries nicely on your back. The wast belt and chest belt make sure you get a nice fit. Overall great pack for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best all around pack EVER This is by far one of my favorite pieces offers that I own. It is also one of my most used pieces.i use iffor everything from camping to downhill mountain biking. I am able so hold my fly Rod in a side bottle pocket and it stats secure with a clip.i love the quality of these packs compared to camelbak. Everything used in this pack is very durable and your hydration tube can be fed through the left OR right strap. This canbe very useful I some situations. The magnetic clasp is perfect for biking because it is always in the same spot on your chest(not flailing around). It's also very easy to clean and doesn't let anything grow in it easily. The airflow/support in the back functions perfectly. I highly reccomended that you buy this. You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. This will definetly last you many years with minimal care.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great daypack! This is a pretty great pack for pulling double duty as a day pack and a bike commute bag. If you're a badass and still bike even in the worst weather it's great with the built in rain cover.,,Fits all your rain gear, your thermos, your u-lock and even a change of shoes. Plus nice a nice attachment for your helmet when you get there.,,,,I'm 5'10" with an average torso and the M/L feels like it might be a bit large for me, but it adjusts down well enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing pack for the avid hiker, mountain biker, and overnight camper!!! I now own three Osprey packs and this pack once again proves Osprey is the best of the best in the world of packs.,,,,Manta 28 is not too big nor too small. Straps on the side you can adjust the size or simply strap down what you have packed. Excellent back support and the shoulder straps...NICE! Raptor has been outdone as far as the back and straps go (still my preferred for mountain biking...a short day that is). ,,,,Great job Osprey!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Osprey quality, moosejaw customer service... cant lose I'm fairly new to osprey products and I think they're top notch. Bag is very useful and thought out as far as layout and features. I find it to be very comfortable and carries the essentials for my hikes. Highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack for adventure racing! This pack is great for adventure racing. Has more then enough room for all the gear required for 24hr or multi-day races. Only problem is the magnets in the bite valve they mess with the compass.

Would this pack be sufficient when climbing Mt. Hood in the summer? Carrying extra layers for warmth on the summit, as well as water and food to last a day-climb?

Asked by: Circumspice
Hey there, This pack works best for day hikes while carrying light loads. It will hold up well in warmer conditions thanks to the mesh paneling on the back. This pack would not be recommended if you are carrying a heavy load.
