I was a little intimidated to realize I needed to read the instructions to figure out all the cool things this backpack can do... But it was worth the couple minutes, because it can do a lot of cool things! I haven't been able to try it out yet, since we had such a lame winter here. :( but it looks like I can use the board straps to carry my rigging rope to work. Yay. Not quite what I envisioned when I bought it, but awesome just the same.
I got this pack for Christmas, and I got to use it up at Alyeska on a gnarly powder day. It held my thermos, a set of gloves, thin down mid-layer, and some cliff bars. The side zippers are super helpful, and super different, I'm still getting used to it. Incredibly comfortable, I had completely forgotten that I even had it on by the end of the day. I totally recommend it!
