Product Description Item No.   10198019

The Osprey FlapJack Pack is a flap backpack for bike commutes and walking to school, work, or around town. The FlapJack is functional even before you open it, with a small zip pocket on the front flap for quick access to smaller items, such as phone or wallet. You'll also notice reflective hits on the outside and a patch where you can attach a blinker for safety while biking in low-light. Once you open up the flap, you'll find your 15-17 inch laptop has a padded home to rest in and a sleeve for your e-reader. The flat document sleeve prevents papers from getting bent up and a small mesh pocket secures small items from getting lost at the bottom of the bag. The webbing straps that clip the flap closed are included in three different colors so you can adjust them depending on your mood, outfit, or location. You know you've always wanted your pack to match your shoes.

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super day pack The best day pack ever. Great back and shoulder paddings and support. Looks so stylish too. I carry along with me now for all traveling. You can put your laptop, iPads, cameras umbrella, travel documents, a jacket..etc, you can put a ton of shyt in it without feeling overwhelmed. Profile of the backpack is flat - so you won't knock into glass displays in shops.. If you have the tendency to do that, then you should definitely consider this as your next day pack purchase. Last thing, lots of compartments for all ya OCD organizing folks. We loved this so much that we bought 2. maybe you should too haha. You will love this bag fo sho.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Sturdy & Holds a Lot I have an older model of this backpack that has the two straps. When I bought the backpack, I wanted something large, but not masculine and I wanted a neutral color; I have a stone color with interchangeable green, pink and brown straps. I have used this for 4 years, through all seasons and even in heavy rains (waiting on commuter bus(10 min)), my contents stay dry. I use to have 3 sprints for my morning commute and again 3 sprints for my afternoon commute. I've tossed it in the wash under the gentle cycle and it cleans up well. I also don't place it on public walkways or streets. I am ready to purchase additional products from Osprey for travel. They have made me a believer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unlike the picture I bought this pack last year and I was super excited. I love osprey packs and they have never done me wrong. However the updated flapjack pack wasn't quite what I had hoped. The pack that I got, the shoulder straps are hard and thin. The picture on the website shows that they are more padded. And updated version? But because of the stiffness of the pack and shoulder straps, it makes it difficult to carry around a decent load. Kind of like carrying a cardboard box. I have given it a lot of chances, but it's just not as comfortable as I had hoped. Maybe this is and updated version though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pack for commuting, travel, and school! Got this pack a few days ago and I must say it is perfect for commuting, travel, and school. The laptop compartment is padded very well and works perfectly with my 13 inch macbook pro. The zippered mesh compartment is padded which makes a nice addition for keeping papers or documents from being bent and crumpled. The main compartment also has room for a change of clothes and lunch. There are two additional zippered pockets under the flap that work great for keeping up with chargers, pens, or anything else that needs to be organized. What surprised me the most was an internal mesh pocket that works perfectly for holding my extra 32oz nalgene bottle, the zippered pocket on the side is not big enough for a nalgene, its the right size for a smaller water bottle or umbrella. This pack is very comfortable to wear and is guarranteed for life by Osprey. Buy this pack!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great commuter backpack for college Started grad school this year and needed a backpack that could protect my laptop and other daily essentials. The flapjack goes above and beyond. Bulky jackets can be stored under the flap. Worn in thunderstorms and moisture did not get it. And it's made by Osprey, so I know it'll last forever. Bonus: a 22 oz bomber beer fits perfectly in the zippered side pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My all time favorite pack! This is by far my favorite pack. I just like the simplicity of the design and I get compliments everywhere I go. Great for school/work/urban settings, this pack does it job well and having a padded sleeve for laptop is definitely great! I like the older version better with two buckles, but overall... a go to pack for my everyday use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built To Last I bought this about a month ago and I have been using it at college. I can tell already that this backpack will last me years. It is sturdy and well built.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, adaptable pack I've been using this pack for a week or so after finally finding a replacement for my one-shoulder messenger bag. I was in love before being fully "moved in" to this bag. The Good: I have ample room for my 35mm camera and lenses, notebooks/whatnot and a jacket/light rain shell in the main compartment. The internal water bottle sleeve is perfect for my oversized Nalgene Silo bottle, and the laptop sleeve is great for stuffing my computer or just folders/papers. I also really like the mesh pocket on the outside of the "divider" for the laptop sleeve. The front pocket has the right amount of organization for me: Sleeves for a couple of pens and 2 bigger pouches for miscellaneous items. No crazy "spec ops" pockets. The bigger front pouch is also perfect for my tablet and medium sized items such as my flashlight/books. The very front pouch is fine and only has a key lanyard for organization. The tall/narrow pocket on the right side of the pack is a bit different and I haven't found the best use for it for daily tasks, but it does (mostly) contain my tripod with just a bit sticking out of the top. The little pocket on the top flap is the perfect size for those "in and out" items such as keys or sunglasses or a spare roll of film, but I wouldn't put much in there as things can get jumbled when you flip the flap over. The padding on the back and straps is great and the carry handle is really beefy which is good for lines at the airport and such. Even when loaded up near capacity, the pack can stay pretty slim with the flap cinched down tightly. You can still reach in with the flap closed and access zippered pockets for small items. The not so good: Compared to other, more technical packs I have from Osprey, this has a tendency to droop a bit and slouch past the shoulder. My only other complaint is that there's no draw string to cinch up the main compartment. This would be nice for days when the pack isn't loaded up so much. Looking forward to years of use!
