The Osprey Farpoint 70 Travel Pack is a travel bag for backpacking across the next new country. The Farpoint combines the best parts of a luggage piece with the best parts of a hiking pack, resulting in a bag ready to travel the world. Whether you're headed to Europe, China, or even Canada, the LightWire™ suspension frame and zip away harness and hipbelt will come along for the ride. At 70 liters it's the largest of the Farpoint series so you can pack plenty of clothing, toiletries, and even a few souvenirs. The included day pack can attach to the front of the pack, or clip it to the harness to carry it on your chest for security. OSPREY MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

HOW TO MEASURE TORSO LENGTH:
• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

HOW TO MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE:
• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, versatile, and high quality pack! I am very impressed with the overall quality of this pack. The zippers and material seem strong, the pack fits comfortably, and it locks up perfectly for travel. The added daypack is amazing for versatility during the day when you want something lighter.,,,,Pros:,,-High Quality,,-Lifetime Warranty,,-Ample Storage,,-Everything zips up for easy travel,,-Detachable daypack offers versatility,,,,Cons:,,-Only complaint is the lack of pockets on the inside of bag. One large zippered pouch on the top, but nothing within, just one big compartment. Although it does have its benefits as I can pack it heavily!,,,,Would definitely recommend this pack!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for bigger trips Bought two of these a couple years ago to backpack around Australia for a month with 2 kids. We now use them for everything. For just us we probably would have gone with the smaller 55 but the bigger size allowed us to cram their stuff in as well and it comes in handy when we're packing bulkier winter stuff. Each person has their own color of packing cubes so it was easy to have 2 people's worth of stuff in one bag. We've done at least 15 flights with them so far and they still look like new. My only complaint is the so-called water bottle mesh pockets on the day pack (although I notice that the new write-up doesn't mention them as such) . We've tried a few different bottles and none of them ever stay put so the bottles go inside. We also ended up buying rain covers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful travel pack! I love this travel pack! Easy to load, and using compression cubes can fit a TON of gear inside. The 20L detachable day pack is fantastic as well - laptop and everything I need access to to is at my fingertips. I have NOT had to check this bag on any of my trips...yet. By stowing the shoulder straps to make it look like a small duffel bag I have not had anyone ever question it going on board. Having said that, with small regional jets it would have to go as checked but any "normal" domestic flight and international flight has aways been easy to bring on board. Th only thing I would say is lacking is an easier way to carry the bag with the shoulder straps stowed away. Only option at that point is holding the handles - I have a Osprey 46L and it has the ability to use a single shoulder strap with a plastic loop at the top and bottom of the bag. Perhaps a minor complaint as I still love the bag and think it is perfect. I use the Farpoint 70L for trips 5-6+ weeks and the Osprey Porter 46L for anything less...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatility for Travel Worth the Price My wife and I both got these for our honeymoon through Greece & Turkey. Having a backpack/travel bag/ and zip off day pack is and was perfect for the occasion. The pockets are well through through for the main bag as well as the zip-off pack. Both packs are comfortable and from a strap perspective. The main bag is very easy to load up and perfect zipper construction so you can grab something from the bottom of the pack without disrupting everything to get to it. Nice job Osprey, I continue to be a fan!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jack of all trades Excellent Pack, you're pretty much buying 3 bags in 1. I use the large portion when we plan on camping out over a weekend and have a need for lots of gear, and use the super lightweight detachable pack for day hikes. It also does well as check-in baggage for flights. The backpack straps are storable making it into a duffle-bag type setup thats quite roomy. plus you could always use the daypack as a carry on. ,,,, can't go wrong with this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, Easy to use Pack I recently travelled to Europe for 2 weeks and stayed in hostels, hotels, AirBnb etc. I thought this pack was great! The pack seemed sturdy and I had no issues with zippers. It was very easy to pack compared to the top loading packs. The straps were fine but perhaps less comfortable compared to a traditional pack if you are doing long hikes. I liked that the straps were concealable & protectable for flights. I used the day pack for our day adventures and it was a perfect size for me. The day pack has 2 inside slots for valuables/tablet etc. The day pack attaches to the travel pack by zipper on the back of the bag which was useful. The day pack can also attach via clips to wear hands free on your front. This was particularly helpful at airports and train stations when I had both bags but didn't want to attach the day pack to the back of the travel pack as I needed easy access to the day pack. Overall, I thought this pack was easy to use and I am happy with my choice of pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Travel pack every I got this Osprey Farpoint 70 Travel pack in October for a trip to asia. The Pack is very comfortable to carry on your back. It is not too large and from some airlines, I was even able to take it into the cabin as a carryon. It is totally worth the price. Aslso, I am 5'10 and the size is just right for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for first time backpacker I bought this for going for a backpack trip in South America along with multiple travel packs. I tried packing my gear and this one was the most comfortable, with a lot of space and though I was afraid it would be to be big, it's not. The attachable day pack is also great!,,,,
