Please note that the info provided above refers to the torso size each pack will fit, and NOT any dimensions of the pack. Below are some steps for how to get your torso length. You should probably have someone help take this measurement for you so it is accurate. And they might accidentally touch your butt.

• Start at the iliac crest, which is the top of the hipbones on the side of your body. These act like a shelf for supporting a pack hipbelt.
• From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down.
• Make sure you keep your back as straight as possible while measuring.
• This torso measurement determines what size Osprey pack you should carry. Refer to the size charts above to find your ideal size.
• If you are in between sizes, it is ideal to try them both on before ordering.

• Measure around your hips at your iliac crest, NOT your waist.
• A properly fitted hipbelt rides centered over the hipbones and needs to be very snug.
• The padded portion should wrap well around your hips, leaving a gap of 3 to 6 inches between the tips of the both hip pads when securely tightened.
• Refer to the Hipbelts size chart above to help determine your ideal Osprey pack size, but again, your torso length is what should determine your pack size, NOT the hipbelt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ignore the bad reviews regarding durability I've got 20 hiking days/200 miles on this pack in the Sierra's this season and the pack has held up very well. It's not as durable as some other packs, but it weighs between 1.5 and 3 POUNDS less than a similar-sized pack and everything is a trade-off. There isn't another 58 out there that is more durable and weighs just 2 1/2 pounds. If it tears who cares... Osprey warranties these things FOREVER and they will fix or replace it free. I generally hike with about 25-30 lbs and have had as much as 45 lbs in it without any problem. The buckle only popps open if you are too stupid to realize that it has an orientation and buckels one-way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GET It!! This pack is not only extremely cool but really light wieght. I currently purchased the Large verson of the Exos 58 pack and being a skinny 6'2 male it fits incredibly well. Not only does the pack distrubte the weight well throughout my waist it stays tight and close to my center of gravity dispite the large size. It has plenty of pockets and places to store essiental gear, with the ease of axcess. A friend of mine with a different Ospey pack and is still finding pockets and has had it for years. It is also a stong pack and Osprey always gaurntees their product with life time repair or replacement. Great company to buy from!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A little light duty I took this pack out for 6 days in Wyoming's Wind River Range. I had the following problems:,, 1. The waist buckle popped open continually. In Osprey's attempt to make the pack light they fitted it with a small waist buckle which did not handle pressure. ,, 2. The mesh side pockets ripped up. This pack may be suitable for established trails but not for bushwacking.,, 3. I like the waist belt pockets but the mesh also ripped.,,,,The pack is too light duty for backpacking in wilderness areas. I would not recommend it for rough terrain. I contacted Osprey and they have agreed to repair the pack but would not replace it with a studier models such as the Atmos or Aether.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great pack! Less than 3#s and everything fits I've just upgraded to lightweight gear, and I'm sold on this pack. The fit is great (love that it still has a frame), and all of my gear fits (including dog food/vet kit for 3 large dogs for an overnight) with a bit to spare. It's just a size up from the Exos 46, and I think that this will also allow for the extra gear required for some winter skijoring trips into FS cabins. The only thing that I've not quite figured out how to manage is where to put a water bottle for easy access--the side pockets are snug to the pack (so maybe a bit clunky getting the water bottle back in the pocket). I like the two full front pockets--nice place to store a jacket/socks/hat for easy access.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feather-weight Pack The pack is a bit smaller than the Atmos 65, but the size large fit me better and has a capacity close to 60 liters. The pack has all the features I wanted at a fraction of the weight. The only thing it leaves out is a zipper for the sleeping bag compartment, but I usually take almost everything out at night anyways. Everything seems slightly more delicate than some of the other packs I have used, but with Osprey's lifetime warranty who can go wrong. Also, the hip belt seems to be made for larger waists. I am a size 32 and have it as tight as it goes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Ultralight, sacrifice some durability and comfort Overall, this is a well thoughtout pack. The carry is supportive but not as padded as osprey's other heavier packs. Expect to carry less than 35 lbs for all day comfort. Could have used longer bottom compression straps and the floating lid does not convert into a fanny pack. Also the side mesh pockets are difficult to access your water bottle while wearing the pack. The hipbelt buckle is a very small quick release that could have been made regular size. Aside from those quibbles, it does what it is advertised to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pack: comfortable and practical. These days I only buy Osprey. I bought this pack for light-weight hiking between accommodation night-stops. It's super-light, crammed with the usual practical Osprey features, very durable, and comfortably carries a load of under 15kg. ,,If I were carrying a load of 15-20kg or so, I'd be reaching for my Osprey Ariel 75 women's pack. DEFINITELY closely follow the weight-carrying specifications provided by Osprey. I love how the Osprey camera pouch attaches so conveniently. Great pack. These days I never look further than Osprey.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice idea, but really not durable I used this and the Exos 46 repeatedly last summer. I really wanted to like them, due to their very light weight. However, I had problems with the net on against my back coming apart at the edge next to the frame on both of them. I'm not sure if it's the frame that's causing the material to separate, the stitching or just the fabric being too delicate. What ever it was, I sadly got rid of both of these. They just do not hold up to actual use. FWIW, the weight carried was under 25 lbs.
